The festive spirit is alive and well with SJA’s Sydney team! It was an early start on Thursday 5 December for SJA’s Tim Hoare, Chris Gray and Tim Stevens who joined forces with Carlo Garofali, special counsel for McCullough Robertson’s Construction practice to help promote and support the Concrete Institute of Australia’s (CIA’s) inaugural NSW golf day. Supported by 150 golfers, the SJA/MR team of four did battle against a host of concrete industry suppliers, contractors, consultants and the like over 18 holes at the picturesque Riverside Oaks Golf Resort in Cattai, NSW. The early 7:45am registration was followed by a light breakfast before an introduction by the Riverside Oaks Director of Golf, Cody Harper. The teams commenced battle at 8:30 AM in a ‘Shotgun, Ambrose’ format where ‘team SJA/MR’ shot a respectable 61 shots on the par 72 course (off a combined 8 shot team handicap), dropping only one shot on the day over the 18 holes. The golf was followed by lunch and presentation in the clubhouse, after which the 36 teams and CIA representatives were able to mingle and network. The day was deemed a roaring success, with prizes dished out during the presentation to the winning team and 8 individual prizes awarded for ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘longest drive’ recipients across the 18 holes. Alas, ‘Team SJA/MR’ were unsuccessful in competing for the top prizes but the day allowed both SJA and MR to forge closer ties and help support the CIA and other businesses that form the lifeblood of the NSW concrete industry.    For those that are interested the fourball from Concrete additive business Xypex Australia were the victors on the day shooting an incredible 45 shots after the team’s handicaps were taken into consideration. #SJA #Golf #CIA #Concrete #ConstructionIndustry #NSW #Australia #Networking #GolfDay #RiversideOaks #Winning #18Holes
