It was fantastic to be joined by Powering Australia for an insightful visit to Hydrogen Park South Australia (HyP SA) at Tonsley Innovation District! Our CEO Anthea Middleton, Senior Manager of Industry Engagement Peter Adams, and Board Chair John G Kelly AM were thrilled to see the impressive work being done in renewable hydrogen production and its potential to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors. The visit underscored the importance of building a skilled hydrogen workforce, with TAFE SA leading the charge through their hydrogen fundamentals courses. #HydrogenInnovation #EnergySkills #PSO #PoweringSkillsOrganisation #Energy #EnergyAustralia #EnergySector #Electrical #Gas #Renewables #EnergyWorkforce #SkillsDevelopment #EnergyTransition #VocationalEducationAndTraining #EnergyPathways #WorkforceDevelopment #TrainingPackages #TrainingProductDevelopment
Powering Australia's South Australian team visited the exciting Tonsley Innovation District for a tour of Hydrogen Park South Australia (HyP SA). They were joined by Powering Skills Organisation’s Peter Adams Anthea Middleton and John G Kelly AM. HyP SA uses a 1.25 MW Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyser to produce hydrogen from water and electricity from the grid when renewable energy is abundant. Drawing on the lessons learned from this initial demonstration, Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) have commenced construction on a 10 MW electrolyser at HyP Murray Valley in NSW, with a 60 MW electrolyser planned for HyP Adelaide to come. As an emerging industry, this leadership demonstrates what is possible and enables offtake by hard-to-abate sectors looking to decarbonise. Critically, it also allows development of the skills required for our future hydrogen workforce. Fortunately, TAFE SA’s Tonsley campus is already geared up to deliver hydrogen fundamentals micro credentials courses. #poweringaustralia #cleanenergy #skillsandtraining #energytransition

In conjunction with CEDIA, Powering Skills Organisation (PSO) has developed a survey to support a review into the UEE30320 Certificate III in Custom Electronics Installations, to determine whether this qualification is suitable and fit for purpose for the custom electronic industry taking into considerations ACMA cabler registration requirements and CEDIA accreditation. CEDIA and PSO are seeking feedback on a range of questions to progress this to the next step of a round table meeting with relevant stakeholders in early 2025. This survey closes 25th January 2025. Record-Breaking Numbers! Australia now has more First Nations people undertaking electrician apprenticeships than ever before – a total of 1600 currently in training! ⚡That’s almost three times the number from just 10 years ago, according to the latest data from the NCVER. This is a positive sign, especially with the recent release of the Federal Government’s first-ever First Nations Clean Energy Strategy. 🌱 According to research published by Jobs and Skills Australia, increasing the number of Electricians employed in regional and remote areas is one of the key opportunities in delivering Australia's clean energy transformation. 🔗https://lnkd.in/gR7mMJv6 #PSO #PoweringSkillsOrganisation #Energy #EnergyAustralia #EnergySector #Electrical #Gas #Renewables #EnergyWorkforce #SkillsDevelopment #EnergyTransition #VocationalEducationAndTraining #EnergyPathways #WorkforceDevelopment #TrainingPackages #TrainingProductDevelopment #SkillsAndTraining
