FRIDAY SCIENCE TIME: What is the retinal 'sweet spot' for myopia treatments? This study investigated which retinal areas inhibit growth signals when defocus is presented to the eye. Infrared eye tracker software used viewing fixation data to assess the response to defocus in central and near-peripheral areas. The peri-foveal retina at 6 to 10 degrees eccentricity was most responsive to imposed defocus, which may control axial length growth and long-term refractive development. https://lnkd.in/gD49SK6e #myopia #myopiacontrol #myopiamanagement #professionallearning
