👏 That's a wrap on 2024! 🤩 This year we removed another 10 dangerous and congested level crossings and created plenty of benefits for the community to enjoy. 🎁 Watch to see it all wrapped up.

👋 Gone for good in Pakenham! 🚉 We removed the level crossings at Main Street, McGregor Road and Racecourse Roads by elevating the rail and opening 2 new stations at Pakenham and East Pakenham. 🏀 We also opened 6 MCGs of open space, including a half basketball court, fitness circuit, community meeting place and shared use path. 👇 Watch below to see the completed Pakenham project.

👀 ICYMI, here's the final designs for Webster Street. We’ll remove the dangerous and congested Dandenong level crossing and create a new road connection, moving heavy vehicles away from the Dandenong CBD. A new signalised intersection will also be built at the Princes Highway-Lonsdale Street, creating safer traffic flow for all vehicles. 👉 Final designs for the Ballarat Station Upgrade have been released! Community feedback from more than 730 locals helped shape the final designs with a new pedestrian overpass, a passenger lift and stairs on each platform and improved access to the existing northern entrance. 🚂 We’re protecting the historic value of this much-loved station while making it easier for everyone to get around. 👏 Preserving a piece of Mooroolbark's history! 👷 We've partnered with Box Hill Institute to give 75 trade students hands-on training in restoration by recreating the original Mooroolbark Station from 127 years ago. 🪚 Using the building’s original drawings and plans, the students have painstakingly rebuilt the old station’s walls and roof to its original 1887 condition. 🚂 We removed the Manchester Road level crossing by elevating the rail line and built a new Mooroolbark Station in 2021. ➡️ Read our latest news item to learn more: https://bit.ly/3Bmu70x

Works are rounding up at Station Street, Beaconsfield! 🔄 ✅ Kenilworth Avenue has reopened to traffic after crews finished building the new roundabout on the south side of the rail line, which will connect to the new road bridge when it opens next year. 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for the project, with crews back on deck in the new year to: 🚜 complete asphalting 🎨 paint the bridge 🚶install kerbs and footpaths 🌱 prepare for landscaping ➡️ Read more: https://bit.ly/3ZMvoHr

👋 Bye bye Watsons Road boom gates! 🔕 The boom gates at Watsons Road, Diggers Rest will never ring again following their removal during our recent construction blitz. 🚧 We're making Diggers Rest level crossing free by removing the 2 level crossings at Watsons Road and Old Calder Highway and building road bridges over the rail line. 🚗 More than 8000 vehicles use these 2 level crossings every day, with 27 trains travelling through the boom gates during the morning peak. ➡️ Read our latest news item to learn more: https://bit.ly/3ZWFaqB

Interchanging the game in Pakenham 🤩 🚌 The new Pakenham Station bus interchange is open! 🚏 13 bus services will use the bus interchange, improving bus to train connections for locals. 🚉 The new Pakenham Station precinct also includes a community open space, walking and cycling paths, upgraded car parking and better lighting and CCTV. ✅ Earlier this year we removed the level crossings at McGregor Road, Main Street and Racecourse Road, and built new Pakenham and East Pakenham stations.
