Not just a novelty, a real benefit to our customers as well as helping us on our journey to a more sustainable future. Watch this space for further updates on branch roll out. #GSF #aftermarketparts #aftermarket #automotive #sustainability #ESG
We’ve been running our Vok Bikes through the busy streets of Tottenham for over a month now and they’ve managed to clock up over a thousand miles of deliveries! With electric power propelling our parts to customers in the capital, the bikes have proved a big hit. Customers have been able to receive deliveries in record time thanks to the bikes and their traffic beating capabilities. Tottenham General Manager Mustafa Ugan AMIMI said: “They’ve been a really good addition and compliment our existing fleet perfectly. They allow us to get to customers so much quicker than before due to the low traffic zones around the branch. They can also carry more than the motorbikes so that really helps with distribution demands.”

Collaborating with WeRideAustralia and Better Streets, AITPM took Lee Waters MS and Phil Jones to Canberra to speak to our nation's politicians and leading industry bodies about the need to change our approach to transport if we have any hope of meeting our emission targets and addressing catastrophic climate change. #transport #netzero #dercarbonisingtransport #climatechange
“For 70 years we’ve made jumping in a car the easiest way of getting around and other modes of transport more difficult. We’ve created friction, and until we make active travel and sustainable transport the easy, obvious everyday choice for ordinary people, then we will fail.” Welsh MP Lee Waters MS addressed Parliament recently on changes he led in Wales. The event was hosted by the Friends of Cycling and organised by WeRide with the support of AITPM - Leadership in Traffic and Transport and Better Streets. [Our own way 🙌] It's time for sports at Colas: Episode 9! Climbing, canoeing, soccer, biking… tune in this summer to (re)discover a selection of emblematic Colas projects that are making sports activities possible around the world. Let’s take a trip to New Zealand to check out our recently renovated netball court at Ngāti Otara Park in southern Auckland. Netball courts require a smooth, durable and non-slip surface for optimal performance and player safety. Our teams recognized the versatility of asphalt beyond road construction and put their expertise to work to create an exceptional playing surface for all to enjoy. 💪 But this project wasn’t all smooth sailing - our teams had to content with challenges such as weather conditions and strict timelines. Nothing we couldn’t overcome, however, with effective planning and a whole lot of teamwork, all while ensuring minimal disruption to regular park activities. This project highlights the importance of community-focused initiatives. Parks enhance social connectivity, physical well-being and overall quality of life. Colas is proud to be creating connections not only by paving roads, but also by paving courts! 🍦Get the inside scoop from Coach Colas: Netball on the international scene 🌏 Did you know? Netball is played by two teams of seven players each trying to shoot a ball into their opponent’s net. This sport, which can be played indoors or outdoors, officially received International Olympic Committee recognition about 30 years ago, but it has never been included as part of the Games. But who knows, maybe in 2028, netball will make its debut in Los Angeles! 😉 #ColasDares #ColasCares #WeOpenTheWay Colas Limited (NZ)

Issues surrounding the scarcity of available land for affordable housing in Australia are a pressing concern, particularly in conjunction with inner city and metropolitan horse racing tracks. The proximity of horse racing tracks to public-funded transport infrastructure exacerbates the challenge of providing accessible housing for essential workers facing chronic shortages of affordable accommodation with easy access to their jobs. In recent years, the horse racing industry has contended with many competing interests for consumer spending, including the advent of gaming offerings in AFL football and the establishment of large-scale casinos in major cities like Sydney. Notably, an investment advisor group recently estimated that the Sydney Star Casino, which is on its knees for viability, is valued at a staggering $8 million. Proposals such as transforming the Rose Hill horse-racing track in Sydney into a residential area for 25,000 residents aim to address the acute shortage of affordable housing in Sydney. Similarly, Adelaide's Cheltenham track was converted into a housing estate over a decade ago. At the same time, Victoria Park in the City of Adelaide transitioned from a defunct horse racing venue to a mixed-use car racing track. Even Morphetville, Adelaide's last remaining horse racing track, will add quality residential. It is slated for redevelopment as a luxury mid-rise apartment and townhouse complex with convenient access to public-funded transport infrastructure like the Glenelg light railway tram service. These initiatives underscore the evolving landscape of urban development and the creative repurposing of existing spaces to meet the growing demand for affordable housing in Australia's metropolitan areas. #AffordableHousing #UrbanDevelopment #Australia #HorseRacing #PublicTransport #essentialworkers #keyworkers
