We provide pathways to employment through engagement, training and economic development initiatives.
About us
Job Pathways is a not-for-profit community development company owned in partnership by two well respected Aboriginal organisations – Wunan Foundation and KREAC. Our organisation was established in 2013 to deliver the Federal Government’s Community Development Program across the broader East Kimberley and Halls Creek/Tjurabalan Regions. The establishment of the Revive Store in 2017 was an initiative to provide a valued service to the community while creating meaningful employment opportunities for long-term unemployed people through an ‘intermediate labour market’ model integrated with the CDP program Waste to Wages. 2020 saw EKJP broaden its scope of social impact across the East Kimberley and Halls Creek/Tjurabalan Regions by establishing itself as a National Disability Insurance Scheme Provider (NDIS) and a Containers Deposit Scheme (CDS) operator. The diversity in services we provide allow us to deliver specialised supports to clients with a wide range of support requirements as well as increasing employment opportunities throughout the regions

Take a look at the first “Coaching on Country” session for our Halls Creek Women's Hub. It was a perfect blend of coaching, culture, and connection — a refreshing way to reset and review our weekly goals. Out on country, we recharged, collected bush fruit, seeds, and bark for dyeing, and gathered wood to cook up a delicious kangaroo tail and veggies. A big thanks to Delphine for preparing the most amazing damper the night before — it was a hit! For these incredible women, getting out on country isn’t easy as none of them have a vehicle. This makes sessions like these even more special, providing a chance to reconnect with culture, nature, and themselves. We’re so proud of this beginning and can’t wait to continue this journey together. #jobpathways #eastkimberleyjobs #employmentpathway #jobpathway #kimberleyjob #kimberleywork #jobs #hallscreek #womenshub #economicdevelopment

We’re starting to wind down and take a look back on the year that was 2024. This is a story from one of Wayfinder's wonderful participants, as featured in the Sep/Oct Edition of Kununurra Sun. This is my story: By Rossena Charlie. "My name is Rosie Charlie, Broome born and bred woman. It’s been 10 years this year, 2024, since I battled with cancer, but now on remission for the last 7 years. First year, 2015, going back to live in Broome was a ‘no no’, 3 months was too dangerous, so I moved to Port Hedland and lived there for 8 months. It was too much and didn’t feel right, then beginning of 2016 I moved to Wyndham… Well I felt right at home, the atmosphere was breathtaking, family support was what the doctor recommended, the country in and around Wyndham and Kununurra is kind of beginning of paradise to a taste of heaven, especially when its wet season. Waterfalls shows its magic, as well as the flowers and plant with their true colours. It’s been 2 years I’ve been with NDIS which been the best support in my everyday living to make my life a little bit less hard and with my medical needs. Wayfinder, Kununurra, been with them for 2 years and I’m really enjoying my night or 2 camp over Respite, all the staff are very friendly, very patient and always looking forward to taking us out fishing (secret spots), out for the day cruise do our shopping or do business, helping me to look for job and just being there for my support makes my Respite a Respite. A place with peace and ease. I’m truly blessed and safe to say thanks NDIS, Wayfinder for your fantastic staff to make my life and night safe." Q. What’s one message you would like to share with people with a disability? A. "Don’t be shame, be game, ask for support." The team at Wayfinder look forward to supporting you. ⭐ Find us Address: 167 Coolibah Drive, Kununurra WA 6743 Mobile: 0467 900 242 Email: [email protected] Web: https://buff.ly/49flCRc #NDIS #ndisprovider #ndissupport #disabilitysupport #care #community

Job Pathways is proud to have taken part in the New Job’s Trial, that has informed the design, development and creation of the Remote Jobs and Economic Development (RJED) program trial in the East Kimberley, funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). During the trial, our team supported Patrick Harry, a Kitja (Gidja) man from Warmun, to embrace a farming and livestock role at Glen Hill Pastoral Aboriginal Corporation, after three years of unemployment. Today's announcement from Senator the Hon Malarndirri McCarthy, Minister for Indigenous Australians, means up to another 3,000 jobs will be created over three years in remote Australia. Our team is looking forward to continuing our work to support the employment of local job seekers, such as Patrick, through the RJED program. If you are seeking more information about how your local remote employment provider can support, please review the information on the NIAA Remote Jobs website: https://buff.ly/3BmQJxL #jobpathways #employment #remotejobs

Behind the scenes of the first artworks from the Halls Creek Women's Hub being digitised at the rollers. Sue and her team in Roebourne are focusing on creating beautiful rugs and cushion panels. Also working on this project is Katie in Perth, who is bringing her expertise in clothing design and pattern making. Once the digitised panels are back, they’ll be transformed into stunning linen cushions. This project is a blend of local talent, community, and creativity. Watch this space as we share this textile collection in Halls Creek! #jobpathways #eastkimberleyjobs #employmentpathway #kimberleyjob #kimberleywork #hallscreek #womenshub #economicdevelopment #smallbusiness #indigenousbusiness
