The first project that gets all my attention focuses on Commercial Excellence in the pharmaceutical industry. As a cancer survivor, this has been both exciting and encouraging for me. 🎀 The innovation being driven by new technology even in its various intricate regulatory restriction, is truly astonishing. The future promises a more integrated healthcare system. I strongly believe in incorporating more holistic approaches into #healthcare. A #DigitalTwin could change how we think about next best actions in a way that makes sense for the industry and is the best for the patient. Bringing conversations like this to the forefront, especially with experts from #Grünenthal, #Pfzier, #Bayer and other pace setters in this industry, is very enlightening. #GenerativeAI, makes me more confident than ever that there is a better way to do things. This is a great step forward in getting to understand those limitations and possibilities. Looking forward to learning more and onboarding great minds!

BuzzFeed data expert Max Woolf aptly wrote on X, "OpenAI just revealed the plot for the next season of Black Mirror." Perspective 1: The technology behind GPT-4o is groundbreaking – it can mimic human voices with uncanny accuracy, elevating AI interaction to a new level. OpenAI emphasizes that safeguards have been implemented to prevent misuse. Perspective 2: However, the fact that the AI "unexpectedly" imitated the user's voice raises serious concerns. 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬: Together with Google Cloud, we published a success story about our project with Enpal where we developed a solar panel estimation to help Enpal create customized sales offers. ✔️Our automation was able to reduce the process from 120 minutes per sales offer to just 15 minutes. ✔️From a technical perspective, it was a very exciting project as we had to think outside the machine learning box: we had to find a solution to account for different roof angles to generate accurate estimates, so we ended up extending the ML solution with mathematical methods (projective geometry, to be precise). ✨ I'm thrilled to announce that I've joined Media Lab Bayern's MEDIA TECH Lab's Batch 5 🤩 I’m developing a browser extension tailored for editors and professionals involved in text-related research, writing, and editorial reviewing. This MIT licensed open-source "AI toolbox" enables direct interaction with any website's content for tasks such as extraction (and Markdown conversion), audio transcription, translation, summarization, re-phrasing and more. It supports all major open-source and commercial AI models (OpenAI, Anthropics, Google, Cohere, Meta, etc. pp.), whether cloud-based, deployed on-premise, or locally. A pivotal goal is to foster a community that collaboratively creates and refines the open-sourced, high-quality dynamic prompts that drive the AI models within a professional, journalistic context. One technical challenge I'm tackling here is to minimize costs and enhance privacy by ensuring that AI tasks are processed locally whenever possible. This includes demonstrating how to implement vector embedding, indexing, and search in-browser using HNSW and cosine similarity algorithms, accelerated by WebAssembly and WebGPU. 🚀 This journey began last week at Media Lab Bayern with an exceptional group of fellows including Dr. Mirza Klimenta, Tobias Sterbak, and Sabine Wieluch, who also secured funding for their impressive projects 🙌 — definitely worth checking out! Sascha Pallenberg 潘賞世 ... I understand that the new possibilities of technology initially evoke fears. HOWEVER, even our parents used to say (back in 1990?) 'what comes on television is nonsense, you must not believe it.' Although this was more aimed at soda commercials or cartoon TV formats, it essentially underscored the fact that this content was created by humans. From my perspective, what DeepFace Realtime technology is doing is simply reaffirming what our common sense has long known, but what we often ignore in everyday life (especially when using social media formats), namely the justified loss of trust in media formats. Images, videos, and audio recordings could already be falsified ten years ago... albeit with a much higher technical barrier... and therefore only by a few with the appropriate skill, equipment, and money. Today, however, anyone can do it... In every problem lies an opportunity, and so I hope that methods and systems for the qualified verification of authenticity of news/media will become part of our media consumption routines. This way, we could also better counter other sources of manipulated media... not a bad idea in times of war propaganda. "In war, truth is the first casualty."... let's solve this problem!
