I am thrilled to share that we have successfully completed the ADNOC First Level Leadership program, “Leading for Lagacy” encompassing Parts A, B, and C. This journey has been both enriching and transformative, equipping us with essential leadership skills to drive our organization forward. Part A: about #Discover phase, we delved into self-awareness and strategic alignment. This phase was pivotal in understanding ADNOC's big picture and setting the foundation for driving business value. It taught us the importance of adapting our behavior and mindset to align with organizational goals. Part B: The #engage phase focused on team engagement and trust-building. We learned to foster an environment where our teams feel empowered to take initiative and solve problems independently. This phase emphasized the impact of effective communication and behavior-based safety on achieving high performance. Part C: In the final phase,#Deliver, we honed our skills in leading and managing change. We developed the ability to conduct powerful leadership conversations, influence outcomes, negotiate effectively, and handle conflicts. This phase prepared us to deliver results that align with ADNOC's strategic objectives and ensure a sustainable future. Completing this comprehensive leadership program has been a remarkable journey. Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Deputy Amir, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani laid the foundation stone of the Blue Ammonia Plant at Mesaieed Industrial City on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. The Blue Ammonia Plant at Mesaieed Industrial City, the largest of its kind in the world, represents a groundbreaking milestone in clean energy innovation. With a production capacity of 1.2 million tons of ammonia annually and the ability to inject and store 1.5 million tons of Carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, this QR 4.4 billion project showcases QatarEnergy's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and leading the charge toward a greener future. What is Blue Ammonia? Blue Ammonia is ammonia produced with significantly reduced carbon emissions. By capturing and storing CO2 during its production, it becomes a low-carbon fuel source that can be used in various industries, including energy, agriculture (as fertilizers), and transportation. Why is Blue Ammonia Important? - Sustainability: It helps reduce CO2 emissions, contributing to global climate change goals. - Versatility: As a clean energy carrier, it offers potential for shipping and industrial use while supporting the transition to green hydrogen economies. - Global Impact: Enables the production of environmentally friendly products, helping nations meet their carbon-neutral commitments. Highlights of the Project: Strategic location in Mesaieed Industrial City with integrated infrastructure and one of the Middle East's largest petrochemical export facilities. Powered by more than 35 megawatts of solar energy, underscoring Qatar's dedication to renewable energy integration. Collaboration between QatarEnergy and Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO) ensures world-class expertise in ammonia production. This plant is not just an infrastructure project; it's a step forward for Qatar and the world in achieving a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC Group said that the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI) gives the world's largest oil companies a major incentive to increase their investments in renewable energy.🛢 In an interview with the Financial Times, Dr. Al Jaber stated that size of this opportunity only became very apparent about 18 months ago when ChatGPT took off, adding that the huge growth of AI would prompt oil groups to look again at their renewables businesses.♻ Big tech companies have pledged to use green energy for their AI data centres to meet their net zero targets, Dr. Al Jaber emphasised. "We need a model that will integrate all forms of energy together. How will the new resignation rules impact employees and employers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? Here are the new additions to the Saudi Labor Law regarding resignation: - The amendment defines resignation as the employee's written declaration of their desire to terminate a fixed-term employment contract without any conditions or reservations, nor requiring the employer's acceptance. - Resignation has been added as a legitimate reason for terminating the contractual relationship in Article 74. - An employee can terminate an indefinite-term employment contract for a legitimate reason by giving written notice to the employer at least 30 days prior to the termination date. - An employer can terminate an indefinite-term employment contract for a legitimate reason by giving written notice to the employee at least 60 days prior to the termination date. - A resignation request is considered accepted if the employer does not respond within 30 days. The employer may postpone acceptance for up to 60 days if work interests require it, with a reasoned, written explanation provided to the employee within 30 days of the resignation submission. - The employee can withdraw the resignation request within 7 days of submission, unless the employer has accepted it. - The employment contract ends with the resignation on the date of the employer's acceptance, the expiration of the 30-day period from submission, or the expiration of the employer's specified postponement period. - It is not permissible to specify a deferred date for resignation in the request. - The employment contract remains valid during the resignation period, and both parties must fulfill all obligations. - An employee whose contract is terminated by resignation is entitled to all rights under the Labor Law, such as severance pay, compensation for leave days, and other applicable benefits.
