Congratulations to our esteemed Director, Distinguished Prof. Clinton Aigbavboa, for being awarded with the Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Award for Outstanding Researcher of the Year at the University of Johannesburg. The award was presented to him by the Chancellor of the University of Johannesburg, Dr. Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Letlhokwa Mpedi, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. The Deputy Directors, faculty, and scholars of the research center proudly celebrate with our #Leader, #Mentor, and #Visionary, whose contributions have significantly advanced research and innovation in the Construction Industry during this era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Prof. Aigbavboa’s research primarily focuses on digital transformation and sustainability within the Construction Industry, particularly in the Global South. As a widely published scholar, he has authored and co-authored over 1,300 accredited journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. In addition, he has penned 27 scholarly books with prestigious academic publishers, including Springer Nature, Emerald, Routledge, and Elsevier, broadening the global understanding of digitalization and its impacts on construction processes and management. A dedicated mentor with a pastoral supervisory approach, Prof. Aigbavboa has successfully graduated over 180 Master’s and 78 Doctoral students, many of whom have become leaders in academia and industry. This award further affirms his impact, not only in scholarship but also in inspiring the next generation of researchers and professionals. We proudly celebrate our Director’s place among the brightest in the UJ Galaxy of Stars. His career has been marked by excellence from the beginning—having won the Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Award: Most Promising Researcher of the Year in 2015, he has now risen to be recognized as the Outstanding Researcher of the Year, a true testament to his enduring excellence.
