Technical Advisor II Mobility Solutions and Brand

I’m currently conducting site audits at various Sasol Retail sites in Polokwane, and I’m pleased with the overall state of our retail sites which is outstanding. A huge shout-out to our dedicated teams at Sasol Baobab, Marshall, Jorrison, Bendor, Gateway and all other sites in the area. The pride in our staff and their commitment to delivering top-quality products is truly evident. What impressed me most is that the teams were fully prepared for an unannounced audit, which speaks volumes about their trust in the systems in place and their dedication to excellence. At Sasol, we are continuously monitoring and auditing our sites to ensure compliance with all standards and guarantee that we provide only the best for our customers. Keep up the great work, team! Last Shout-out at Khomotso Modisane who is the RAM for the region. Buhle Sibuyi you should be proud. #Sasol #SiteAudit #QualityMatters #ProudTeam #Polokwane #ExcellenceInAction

On 16 December 2024, we had the honour of welcoming Minister Tobias Goldschmidt from the Ministry for Energy System Transformation, Climate Protection, the Environment and Nature (MEKUN) of Schleswig-Holstein to our Sasol site in Brunsbüttel. We were delighted that Minister Tobias Goldschmidt was joined by representatives of the companies (Covestro, Holcim, Linde, Raffinerie Heide, Yara) that signed the decarbonisation agreement with the state of Schleswig-Holstein in May 2024. The purpose of the visit was an intensive exchange on climate protection and sustainability, accompanied by an informative tour of the plant. The visitors also had the opportunity to visit our Research, Development and Analytics Centre. Thomas Tebroke, VP Germany Operations, and Peter Heberling, Plant Manager Sasol Brunsbüttel, as well as other colleagues, showed the delegation around during the morning. Underlining the importance of our commitment to climate neutrality, Minister Goldschmidt concluded [Ed. note: Translation]: "Sasol is one of the largest companies in Schleswig-Holstein and is focusing its production on climate protection. The company has committed itself to this in a joint agreement with the state. This makes Sasol not only a major employer on the west coast [of Schleswig-Holstein], but also an important partner in the transition to climate neutrality. During today's tour, I was able to take a look behind the scenes and see how modern technologies contribute to climate-friendly production. Many thanks to the local team for the exciting insights!"   We are proud to be actively involved in the implementation of sustainable production methods together with the state of Schleswig-Holstein and our partners. Our aim is to make a significant contribution to achieving climate targets. Many thanks to Minister Goldschmidt and all involved for the inspiring exchange! #Sasol #Sustainability #ClimateNeutrality #InnovationInAction #SasolChemicals #TeamSasol

    Driving change, innovation and sustainability

It is the 6th year Sasol participated in the SCIP+ Green Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest in Shanghai, China as a corporate partner. In the past few years, we have seen a lot of great startups with innovative technologies coming out of the program. We are glad to be part of the journey. This year, we are glad to give the 'Sasol award' to Celluranics New Materials Technology, who is an innovative startup converting bio mass into FDCA. We think their technology is a valuable step forward for sustainable chemical manufacturing and their business model is also interesting. We look forward to exploring more opportunities with innovative startups globally and we can work together to tranform the industry into a more sustainable future. #Sasol #SCIP #innovation #sustainability #Shanghai

Transforming Change Into Opportunity | Change and Communication Strategies | Director of the World-Renowned Sasol Solar Challenge

The Blind and Half-Blind Stages | A True Test of Strategy and Adaptability The Sasol Solar Challenge is more than just a challenge of efficiency and endurance—it’s a test of strategy and adaptability. Two of the most unique stages in the event, the Blind and Half-Blind Stages, exemplify this perfectly, pushing teams to think strategically and optimise their performance in real-time. These special stages add a thrilling layer of unpredictability to the competition, forcing teams to rely on preparation and their ability to make critical decisions in dynamic environments. The Blind Stage In the Blind Stage, teams are kept in the dark about the exact route until just hours before they begin. This eliminates the advantage of pre-planning every detail of their journey, requiring teams to focus on optimising their vehicle’s performance and energy use while navigating unknown terrain. Teams must determine: Optimal energy usage for an unknown route profile. Adjustments for terrain and elevation changes without prior analysis. Efficient decision-making, balancing speed, energy, and endurance. The Blind Stage transforms the event from a pre-planned engineering challenge into a live test of adaptability, rewarding teams that excel in real-time problem-solving. The Half-Blind Stage The Half-Blind Stage provides teams with limited information about the route ahead—just enough to tempt detailed planning but not enough to eliminate all uncertainty. Teams know part of the route but are left guessing about key sections, creating an exciting strategic challenge. Teams must decide: How to allocate energy for known and unknown segments of the stage. Whether to play it safe or push the limits with the information they have. How to anticipate and adapt to unexpected conditions during the stage. Why These Stages Matter Both the Blind and Half-Blind Stages are designed to reward team preparation, adaptability, and problem-solving. These stages reflect real-world challenges, where perfect conditions and complete information are rarely available. For the teams, these stages bring excitement and tension, creating unforgettable moments as they navigate the unknown. For us as organisers, these stages embody the essence of what makes the Sasol Solar Challenge truly extraordinary: a platform where technology, teamwork, and innovation meet head-on with the unexpected. The 2024 Blind and Half-Blind Stages brought out the very best in our teams, challenging them in ways no other solar challenge does. As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to see how teams continue to embrace these stages and push the boundaries of what’s possible. #SasolSolarChallenge #Innovation #Sustainability #Adaptability #Teamwork Sasol
