Last Friday, our Cape Town and Gqeberha teams gathered at the impressive Grand Africa Café in Cape Town to celebrate the conclusion of a successful year. The event was filled with camaraderie as we shared a meal and reflected on the achievements that made 2024 stand out. A special highlight of the evening was recognising our long-service employees, including two team members celebrating an impressive 10 years with Nordex Energy South Africa, and five others marking 5 years of dedication. Their contributions continue to inspire us and drive our mission of delivering innovative renewable energy solutions. #TeamNordex #CelebratingSuccess #Teamwork #RenewableEnergy #WindEnergy #Collaboration

With each keystone cast and delivered, we’re one step closer to completing the Eastern Cape wind farm cluster. Given their size and weight, transporting these critical components is no small feat—13 of the 25 keystones per tower require police escorts for safe delivery. Interesting Fact: Our manufacturing facility spans nearly 10 hectares, strategically positioned for efficient #logistics and a reduced carbon footprint. Sometimes a little #teambuilding is exactly what is needed! Our Service department back-office management team took part in a shipwrecked live experience at the HintHunt Africa where 2 teams competed for the best time! Message from Babalwa Kekana, our Head of Service: "Team building is not just about trust falls and icebreakers, it's about fostering a collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. A strong team is the foundation of any successful organisation." #collaboration #TeamNESA #endof2024

#ProjectNews At our Eastern Cape wind farm project near the Impofu Dam, each wind turbine tower comprises 25 meticulously crafted keystones, the largest of which weighs over 57 tonnes and measures an impressive 20 meters in length. How it Happens: - Rebar installed in a single day for structural strength. - 4-5 hours of casting followed by a 7-10 day curing process. - Locally sourced materials like steel, concrete, and aggregate support job creation and the South African economy. These innovative practices ensure not only the strength and safety of our towers but also their sustainability. Logistics is a complex task, but thanks to early planning and specialist teams, the transportation of the nacelles, hubs, and drive trains for the Umsobomvu Wind Farm began ahead of schedule in mid-September. This timing helps us avoid logistical bottlenecks and ensure the components arrive safely before the busy holiday season. David Moncasi Hortet, our Head of Sales for Africa, emphasizes the importance of efficiency and adaptability. “Starting early is key to managing potential logistical challenges.” #Logistics #RenewableEnergy #WindPower #Construction #Transportation Robert Timmers Nordex Group Pablo Sueiras Blanco Envusa Energy South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA)
