Recently, senior researcher Tshwanelo Rakaibe represented #TeamCSIR at the EWSETA Annual General Meeting (AGM). Aside from attending to the official business of the AGM, the EWSETA celebrated the impactful contributions to skills development in South Africa’s #energy and #water sectors that have been achieved in collaboration with various partners. The CSIR Energy Centre received an excellence award in the #SMME Development category in recognition for our contribution in supporting the development of SMME’s in the energy sector through the Energy Industry Support Programme (EISP) which is a EWSETA funded, 5 year, initiative aimed at providing support to SMME’s in the broader energy sector value chain. Empowering Future Water Innovators at the PoVE Water Hackathon!    Recently brilliant young minds stepped up to tackle critical water challenges, guided by the expertise of industry specialists. With their creativity and dedication, participants worked on innovative solutions to: 🔹 Monitor Water Quality using real-time reporting 🔹 Prevent Water Loss through advanced leak detection and infrastructure maintenance 🔹 Leverage Predictive Analytics for drought and flood management 🔹 Engage Communities in meaningful water conservation efforts   Under the mentorship of seasoned experts, students demonstrated incredible problem-solving skills and a passion for making a difference.
