Many businesses operating in Africa travel through the continent’s most diverse economy, South Africa. This is one reason we set up our central office in AfricaWorks in beautiful Breë St, Cape Town, making it easy for African and international members to meet us. It was great to have Nick Shah OBE owner of member company SJ Group International and his wife Sarah Shah, owner of our member company Sarah Shah Coaching, visit us from their bases in UK (Wiltshire) and Mauritius. Nick was one of the first members to join Africa Scotland Business Network in 2019. Sarah’s business came into the network 2 years ago. Thanks to Nick for the wonderful referral! It’s been a brilliant journey knowing and working with you both. Member News | Safety Collaborations You can't measure what hasn't happened. Integrate safety in your culture in hazardous work industries with Safety Collaboration leads, Nuala Gage (speaking below) and Karin Ovari 👏

Why is it so hard to measure the actual cost of your organisational safety culture? I was challenged this week by a post that highlighted how you can’t measure what HAS NOT HAPPENED. Which makes it very difficult to measure the 'fairy dust' ROI... 🌻 How often do you see potential improvements when you take over from someone? 🌻 Do you hold that mirror to yourself? 🌻 Do you celebrate what is working? 🌻 What are the small things that can make a difference? 💡 Why wait until something does happen? Let’s start with a conversation and make the invisible visible. When you change your conversations, you create a catalyst to change minds, which leads to a change in outcomes.
