Rhondda
The Rhondda is made up of two valleys – the Rhondda Fawr and the Rhondda Fach – and includes the towns of Treorchy, Treherbert, Tylorstown, Penygraig, Maerdy, Tonypandy, Ferndale, and Porth. The Rhondda has a rich coal mining history, but the industry saw a steep decline from the 1940s to the 1980s. For the latest stories sign up to our Rhondda newsletter here.
