All the Best Looks From the Glamorous Academy Museum Gala 2024
The stars were out in their most glamorous gowns and tuxedos over the weekend for the annual Academy Museum Gala. Likened to the Met Gala in terms of high fashion, A-list attendees, and a lush carpet fit for the stars, the gala was held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
Much like the Met Gala, which takes place on the first Monday in May each year at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art, the event is mostly kept under wraps aside from the red carpet. Celebrities including Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Ayo Edebri, Paul Mescal, and many more lined up in their Saturday best for an opulent night.
Cynthia Erivo, who is currently in the midst of her Wicked press tour ahead of the highly anticipated film adaptation, performed during the gala. In true Elphaba fashion, Erivo wore green both on the red carpet and on stage. Her co-star Ariana Grande channeled Glinda with her light pink polka-dotted dress.
Sisters Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Kendall Jenner had a sisters' night out at the gala, posing on the red carpet together. Both Kim and Kylie wore vintage Thierry Mugler for the night, while Kendall went with Schiaparelli.
This is only the fourth year of the gala and raises money for museum exhibitions, education, and programs within the filmmaking community. This year, the Academy Museum honored Paul Mescal, Quentin Tarantino, and legendary actor Rita Moreno for their “groundbreaking achievements, filmmaking influence, and demonstrated versatility” within the film industry.
