Producer’s Responsibilities
• Leads the Team – People person
• Leads / organises meetings & paperwork
• Supports Director and makes it happen
• Responsible for Management of the Production from Pre-production to Post (and
sometimes beyond)
• Health & safety / Risk Assessment – planning and adhering to H&S
• Deals with everyone external to production as well as internally e.g locations

• Calls the shots on set (Claps if no AC)

cast and crew

e.g Changes lenses, organises SD cards, charges batteries
• Cleaning kit and parts between use and a new person handling them

• Records sound with takes for syncing
• Attaches radio mics to actors
• Records Wild tracks
• Records Atmos
• Supervises or also acts as Boom Operator
• Communicates notes to Script Supervisor
• Looks after all kit including charging batteries etc
Post-production
• Creates Foley; Collects Sound effects. May assist with Syncing material
• After Picture lock: Creates soundscape with various elements – taking direction / collaboration with
director
• Mixes tracks
• Exports mixes along the way and attaches to picturelock for group crits etc
