Introduction
• Vacuum cleaners are established electrical household products with
the main function of cleaning the home with the use of suction to
collect dirt and dust. Today's market offers a spectrum of different
models and solutions. In conjunction with urbanisation and a growing
population, new demands are set regarding compact living solutions
and home products that function in everyday life.
Why did we choose this topic?
• The purpose of this project was to develop a concept proposal for a
new vacuum cleaner that adapts into a modern home by facilitating
storage, by addressing the needs of the end user. The question to be
answered in this project was: How can a vacuum cleaner be designed
and adapted to facilitate compact and easy storage for the user in a
modern home, without compromising its current efficiency?
PROBLEM DEFINITION
• IT MAY BE HARD TO CLEAN THE STREET IN SUMMERS DUE TO
EXTREME HEAT WAVES SO WE HAVE DESIGNED A MODEL SO ONE
CAN CLEAN THE STREET WITH THE HELP OF OUR MODEL FROM
THEIR COMFORT PLACES.
How it solves the problem
• Firstly, the project investigated the user’s needs of a vacuum cleaner in
its in-use-lifecycle through a human-centred design approach. The
research included finding and defining the needs and requirements
end-users have on their households’ vacuum cleaner.
• Secondly, the project included the development of a concept proposal
to answer the user’s needs and serve as an inspiration to further
develop the current vacuum cleaners on the market, making the
products address new end-user’s needs discovered.
• Thirdly, the project reflected on how the human-centred design
methodology can lead to a greater height of innovation in the product
development field.
• an electrical devise which works on
suction and collects dust and small particles
fro floors and other surfaces.
Advantages and Disadvantages of vacuum
cleaner
ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES

• Vacuum Cleaner Saves Time • Canister vacuum cleaners

and Energy. not well perform on carpet.
• Removes allergen from • It doesn't go over liquids, but
breathing air. will go over other things.
• Vacuum cleaner comes with • It makes too much noise.
advanced features. • Higher prices for consumers.
• Vacuum cleaner is a low cost
tool.
SCRAMPER
S for substitute
• An exhaust filter is used in vaccum cleaners. Basically there are made of Polypropylene. this
exhaust filter could be blocked or torn due to which the vaccum can loose suction and not work
properly. It also needed to be changed at regular interval of time
•So, to eliminate this problem polypropylene material can be replaced with activated charcoal filter
frame. Activated charcoal filter frame is low cost and low maintenance as compared to polypropylene
filters.
C For combine
For Combining , we can use wireless sensing unit.
It can be combined with vacuum cleaner , so
without any complications of wire it can be moved
easily from one place to another.
M for modify
• We can design the outer body of vaccum cleaner and can
make a sylish looking switches in it
E for eliminate
• We can eliminate noise by using porous material as a noise control
method is a simple and effective alternative to reduce the noise
produced by vacuum cleaners. Instead of using synthetic fibres, such as
polyester or polypropylene as sound-absorbing materials, natural fibres,
such as coconut and oil palm fibres, are used.
• Rice husks and tea leaves have also been proposed as absorptive
materials . These green soundabsorbing materials are eco-friendly and
biodegradable. They are also easily available and inexpensive.
• Mohanty and Fatima used a natural plant fibre , jute, and its derivatives
as materials to reduce noise produced by domestic clothes dryer, which
resulted in 6 dB noise reduction.
P For put to some other use
• Combination of vaccum cleaner and blower mechanism.
WHITE HAT: INFORMATION
GATHERING.
The product that we have took for
case study ie: Vacuum cleaner is
mostly used in household appliances
and in industries.
Vacuum cleaner helps to remove
dust and garbage from any surface.
Red hate: feelings and instincts.
IN RED HAT FIRST WHAT IS GOOD
IN VACCUM CLEANER:
It saves time and energy of
humans.
It is a low cost tool.
It removes mostly every dust
particles.
BAD THING IN VACCUM CLEANER:
It is very heavy.
It consumes more electricity
 Green Hat : Creativity Hat
 Outer body can be changed,so it can be portable
 Air filters are substituted with cheaper and reliable
 Sound reduction ie; critic hat’s problem can be reduced
Yellow hat: Positivity hat
It removes mostly every dust
particles.
It saves time and energy of
humans.
Black Hat: Devil’s advocate (weakness)
IT is heavy weight.
It makes lot of noice.
Due to short length of wire it is not
easily transportbale from one corner to
another.
Blue Hat: Summary hat
We will make sure of all the pieces are
rightly fitted in its slots and organise
accordingly
