 Diversified into manufacture of Rocker Arms in the year 1992

 Current production average of 3.00Mn to 3.20Mn components a month

Camshaft is a rotating object contains pointed cams, which converts rotational

motion to reciprocal motion Camshafts are used in internal combustion
engines to operate the intake and exhaust valves
CAM SHAFT MANUFACTURING PROCESS
 RAW MATERIAL :

 BILLET HEATING :
• The material cutted into

required dimensions is known
as billet
• The billet is heated at temp
1240 C
• The time taken to heat a one
billet is 10 sec
 PRESS FORGING :
• Press forging may be defined as the

process of shaping a metal that is placed
between two dies by applying
mechanical or hydraulic pressure. Press
forging is usually dine on a forge press a
machine that applies graduals pressure
on the forging dies .
• Ton capacity – 1600 ton
 TRIMMING :
Trimming is a process that is used as a finishing operation for forged parts
in order to remove flash. Flash is a characteristic common in most metal forging
After trimming weight of component is 0.32 kg
 PART SPECIFICATION :
Dia – 16.5 to 0.50 to 0.30 mm

Step Dia – 28.10 to 0.50 to 0.30
Distance from one end to 1 st Cam -67.0 mm
Distance from 1 st to 2 nd – 46.50 mm
Total length 340 mm
 SHOT BLASTING :
• Shot blasting is commonly used for the cleaning of iron ,steel , non-cast parts ,
forging ,etc..In general shot blasting concentrates abrasive particle at high speed in a
controlled manner at the material there by removing surface contaminates due to the
abrasive impact
• Time taken for shot blasting 10 min

 VISUAL INSPECTION :
Is the oldest and most basic method of inspection .It is the process of
looking over a piece of equipment using the naked eye to look for flaws .It
requires no equipment except the naked eye of a trained inspector
 PACKING :
Packing is the process of
covering , wrapping or crating goods
into a package .This is done for the
purpose of delivering the product.

It was a wonderful learning experience at “FITWEL TOOLS AND FORGING PVT .LTD
” for four weeks in TUMKUR. I gained a lot of insight regarding almost every aspect of
plant.
Through this training, is comprehensive understanding about the real industrial working
condition and practice. All these valuable experiences and knowledge is acquired
through the direct involvement in task but also through other aspects of the training such
as: work observation, interaction with collogues, superior and other people related to the
field. So, in this way there is unlimited knowledge and many things to learn here in this
center.
I am very much thankful for the wonderful facility from . I hopeFITWEL TOOLS AND
