Refrigeration
Process of obtaining desired cooling effect by removal of heat.
Definition :
Refrigeration is the process of cooling a space, substance, or

system to lower and/or maintain its temperature below the ambient
one (while the removed heat is rejected at a higher temperature). In
other words, refrigeration means artificial (human-made) cooling.
Basic components and process
involved in refrigeration are :
1. Evaporator : heat absorption
2. Compressor motor : compression
3. Condenser : cooling or heat rejection
4. Expansion valve : expansion / throttling

INVERTER
COMPRESSOR:
An inverter compressor is a gas
compressor that is operated
with an inverter.
In the hermetic type, it

can either be a
scroll or reciprocating
compressor. This type of
compressor uses a drive to
control the compressor motor
speed to modulate cooling
capacity. Capacity modulation
is a way to match cooling
capacity to cooling demand to
application requirements.
LG’s progress supported by it’s technologies :
-LED Lighting
LED lighting that helps save energy (77% reduction) and are more
durable(26.6 times) than a conventional lamps. Also LED are extremely
suitable for devices with on-off function .They emit less heat so do not
increase temperature.
-Multi Air Flow
LG's Multi Air Flow ensures even cooling by dispersing Cool

air effectively in multiple directions throughout the refrigerator
by using the multi flow air vents located all over the refrigerator.
Thus helps in keeping the food fresh & healthy.
-Moist Balance Crisper
A special latticed-type fruit/vegetable box cover to control moisture so that

fruits and vegetables stay fresh. It prevents excess moisture from forming
while retaining just the right amount of moisture to increase freshness. The
grid patterned crisper cover condenses extra humidity and evaporates
moisture from the grid pattern, allowing to maintain the freshness for longer.
Linear Cooling
-ThinQ : A Smart Way of Managing Refrigerator
Flagship models from LG come with Smart ThinQ , a smart refrigeration

control technology. The refrigerator comes with eclipse display with Wi-
Fi connectivity which lets the user to conveniently control and monitor
their refrigerator simply using their smartphone. It comes with the
option of enabling or disabling the auto opening of refrigerator alongside
the child lock feature.
-Hygiene Fresh+ with Anti-bacterial Gasket
LG has recently introduced Hygiene Fresh+ feature in its premium

refrigerators. This technology provides top-notched air purification in the
refrigerators using unique UV light & photocatalyst mechanism. It comes
with 5-layer filter, a carefully designed fan that amplifies air purifying
process ensuring food products stays fresh for much longer
-Auto Smart Connect
Auto Smart Connect™ is a technology that helps connect your

refrigerator to home inverter. Once the refrigerator is connected to the
home inverter, every time the power goes off it automatically takes
inverter power to run the refrigerator without any manual supervision.
Consumes power less than 2 CFL~ bulbs during power cut.
-Toughened Glass Shelves
LG Refrigerators come with specialized Toughened Glass Shelves that

are meant to carry heavy load without any spillage. Now store more
without any worry.
-InstaView Door-in-Door
InstaView Door-in-Door has a sleek mirrored glass panel that illuminates

with two quick knocks, allowing you to see inside the easy access
compartment without ever opening the door, reducing cold air loss to help
keep food fresher, longer.
LG Solar Smart with Stabilizer-free Operation
How it works?
• Solar Panel generate DC voltage which intermittent in nature due to
solar radiation.
• This intermittent DC voltage is converted to a fixed DC voltage with
the help of Solar Charge controller.
• Running refrigerator is not possible with this DC voltage directly.
• To run refrigerator, DC to AC converter is required. Like Inverter, CPU
or UPS (please make sure the voltage range is between 100V-290V).
• Generally battery (storage system) is used along with this DC to AC
converter.
• Battery system help in managing sudden high power requirement by
load.
• Solar panel rating requirement will be different for different
refrigerator models, if try to run without battery system.

Inverter Compressor.
