Thermoplastics can be melted when heated and hardened again when cooled, while thermosetting plastics will harden permanently when heated. Polymers can also be classified as either natural polymers found in nature like proteins and rubber, or synthetic polymers created by industry like nylon, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, and polyester.
