This booklet consists of two papers. Answer Paper 2 which comes first, in your answer

4. Read the following passage carefully and answer all the questions which follow.
Accidents do happen on the road almost every day. Interestingly, even good roads
that we believe should make travelling safe see accidents often. When accidents happen,
we are interested in the various kinds of injury that occur, how to prevent accidents, and
how to give first aid and manage victims. We can say that accidents on the road have
become the order of the day. It is likely that most of us have seen one kind of road
accident or another. The normal reaction of eye-witnesses is panic as they rush to the
scene and stand there looking in shock. Accidents on the road pull crowd greatly as
everyone wants to stop and have a look. However, the three most useful things you can
do if you are at the scene of a road traffic accident are to help in the rescue of trapped
victims, to give first aid treatment to victims, and help in carrying injured people to the
nearest hospital.
Accidents on the road can easily cause injury to the human body. What leads to an
increase in injury are the high speed at which the motor-car is travelling, the sudden
stopping of the motor-car, and the hard nature of the motor-car body. Probably, the most
dangerous accident on the road is the one that involves motor-cyclists. Motor cycles do
not have solid body to protect cyclists from the direct hitting of oncoming motor-car. In
fact, such accidents tend to be deadly. Accidents that involve motor-cyclists are the
cause of high level of death because the human skull is often fractured when it hits the
hard surface of the road.
Accidents that involve motor-cars often get their passengers trapped in the body of
the car. This means that the crumpled car’s body need to be cut away before the victims
can be saved. If the road accident results in a fire, then this can be disastrous as the fire
will prevent rescuers from coming near which will result in the quick death of the
