What?
A subsidiary of the Sapphire Group of Companies, it is a vertically
integrated textile manufacturer, producing cotton yarn, fabric, and
finished garments. Sapphire's retail sector began as a women’s apparel
brand but quickly grew into a lifestyle brand with products ranging
from cosmetics, menswear, children's garments, accessories and linen.
The company has also diversified into the power generation and dairy
sectors. Sapphire Dairies Private Limited operates a mechanized dairy
farm based on 100 acres near Manga, Lahore, and Sapphire Electric
Company has a combined cycle plant in Muridke.

When?
Mr. Abdullah founded Sapphire Textile Mills in 1969, which was
designed with the objective of becoming one of the most creative,
dynamic, and forward-looking organizations. 35 countries have become
a part of the company's worldwide reach.

Why?
The Sapphire Group began its project from Calcutta (India) before they
shifted their operations to Pakistan. That is where they set up their first
ever spinning unit. Ever since its inception, Sapphire has grown in the
textile sector by expanding & broadening their penetration into the
market industry.
It bases their framework around the vision of ‘being one of the premier
textile companies recognized for leadership in technology, flexibility,
responsiveness, and quality.
Sapphire chose Pakistan as the place to establish their company
because of several reasons:
1. Pakistan has one of the largest canal irrigation systems in the world.
2. It is the first largest grower in the world.
3. Textile accounts for more than 60% of the total exports.
4. Has the most modern and organized textile production setup.
5. Has more than 50 years of accumulated textile knowledge.
6. Well established infrastructure of textile management and skilled labor.
