• This commitment is made through BII‟s GBP 200-million Climate Innovation Facility which finances

arrangements.

• The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved a draft bill to extend a 10 percent reservation to the Maratha
community in both educational institutions and government employment.
• This move follows a report submitted by the Maharashtra Backward Class Commission (MBCC) justifying
the extension beyond the 50 percent cap.
• Currently, the state already reserves 10 percent for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), with the
Maratha community being the primary beneficiaries.
• Marathas claim 85 percent of this reservation, highlighting their significant presence within the EWS
category.
• CITCO (Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation) introduces a pizza maker near
Sukhna Lake, producing hot pizzas in three minutes, a first in North India.

• Government of Kerala, unveiled the logo and web portal of the Kerala Brand to increase the domestic

• The logo of Kerala Brand carries the motto „Nanma‟, a Malayalam expression which translates to
„Goodness‟.
• All the products under the brand will be imprinted with the wording „Made-in-Kerala‟ to tap into the

• Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura, launched the CM Jan Arogya Yojana (CMJAY), a universal health
insurance scheme for all. With this launch, Tripura became the first Northeastern state to launch a
universal health cover.
• This is in line with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), a national
public health insurance scheme of the government of India.
• The scheme offers universal health insurance coverage and it will benefit 4.15 lakh families of Tripura
and provide cover of Rs 5 lakh per family annually.
• The scheme will provide cover to families irrespective of income level.
• CMJAY will also cover the Group C and D employees of the government of Tripura.
• Tripura Government will spend around Rs 104 crore towards the implementation of this scheme in 2024.
• Under this scheme, the patients will get free medicines for 15 days after being discharged from a critical
illness.
• Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the “Savera” program, a groundbreaking
initiative aimed at early detection and prevention of breast cancer in women. Developed in collaboration
with the Medanta Foundation and the Health Department, Savera leverages the unique ability of visually
impaired women to conduct breast cancer screenings.
• The program capitalizes on the naturally heightened tactile sensitivity possessed by visually impaired
individuals.
