Rationale:
All teacher are born need not be true. To help the teachers to be fit to play the roles in mitigating,
gender stereotypes in school, the teacher must be trained. It is well known that the quality of the
teacher depends on quality of the teacher training programmes. A teacher training
course/symposia, etc can definitely make the aspiring teachers more confident, mature and
effective in carrying out their tasks in the classroom. teacher to gain an understanding of the
different aspects of the education process.
As Teachers and Non – Teaching Personnel, we give so much thought to other people–the students, the school
management, the parents, fellow teachers, throughout the day. However, we are so fogged by the day-to-day
grind of planning and preparing, that we forget to focus on our own mental well-being.
It is important that we remember that teachers and staff are indispensable in our entire education system and
so is their mental health and well being.
Terminal Objective:
To raise awareness of gender equality concerns by providing the teaching and non-teaching personnel
with basic facts, evidence, and arguments on various topics related to gender equality.
To foster mutual understanding and learning about gender inequality through enhancing gender roles
and standards for men, women, and LGBTQIA+.
Enabling Objectives:
At the end of the two- day training, Teaching and Non-Teaching Personnel must be:
1. aware of their subconscious gender-related behaviour in the classroom
2. aware that they subconsciously provide gender-stereotypical role models in the classroom
3. aware of the different approaches to learning and to performing tasks among pupils in general, and
specifically any differences between boys and girls. And also of how the gender of the teacher may
affect the way they approach “typical” boy or girl behavior
4. aware of the influence they and schools have on their students’ perspective of society and the world.
