I. General Information:
II. Rationale:
The Department of Education (DepEd) uses the Three-star Approach in implementing
the WaSH in School (WinS) program. This approach encourages schools to take simple
steps to make sure that all students wash their hands with soap, have access to drinking
water and are provided with clean, gender-segregated and child-friendly toilets at
school every day.
With that, the SGOD – Health and Nutrition Section will conduct validation to schools
with 3-stars score for S.Y. 2021 – 2022 on March 2, 2022.
III. Objectives:
Specifically, it serves the following objectives:
Improve hygiene and sanitation practices among learners and school personnel to
enable them develop a life-long positive behavior towards hygiene and sanitation
at school.
Ensure correct knowledge and understanding among learners and school
personnel of an effective hygiene and sanitation.
Engage camaraderie to keep the learning environment clean, safe and healthy.
adapt the mechanisms to accomplish the desired outcomes of the Memorandum
IV. Methodology:
Since the province of Davao de Oro is under Alert Level 2, Department of Education,
Schools’ Division of Davao de Oro will conduct a limited face-to-face validation on the
above-mentioned memorandum. The activity shall be conducted by the Division
personnel mentioned in the attached memorandum.
V. Expected Participants:
Attached herewith the Division Memorandum with the names of the personnel who
will conduct and participate in the validation process.

VII. Monitoring and Evaluation: The participants will use the WinS Monitoring Form
