Professional Summary
A Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer with extensive systems engineering, test engineering, project management and manufacturing related experience. Specialties: Process Enhancements, Systems Requirements Definition and Verifications, Problem Analysis, Organizational Collaboration Tools-Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project; Catia-solid modeling; DOORS-requirements tracking U. S. DOD Security Clearance Secret (Inactive)
Key Accomplishments
Led a project team that developed a comprehensive plan for writing processing procedures for the Air Force FALCON hypersonic reentry vehicle. Project required extensive collaboration with a geographically dispersed team to maintain good working relationships and to meet a fast track schedule which resulted in reducing development costs by 40%. Managed and developed test teams and processes to verify mechanical engineering requirements were accomplished on the Titan Centaur launch vehicle with 100% Mission Success under tight schedule constraints that required vehicle shipping per a specific project date. Created Concept of Operations and the test requirements with a requirements tracking application for processing of several different missile configurations for the Department of Defense Targets program with extensive collaboration with design engineers, contractors and the customer, and that required numerous successful presentations.
Professional Detail
Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, Littleton, CO
Staff Engineer-Mechanical 2006 2009 Developed manufacturing installation procedures for the Mobile User Objectives System (MUOS) Department of Defense satellite program that kept the project on schedule. Developed Mechanical Ground Support Equipment for the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) proposal won by Lockheed Martin. Used Catia solid modeling to design Joint Strike Fighter aircraft test fittings and to locate strain gauges on the wings for a successful test program. Evaluated the foam application on the Space Shuttle External Tank as part of a cross-functional post Columbia disaster team while on Temporary Duty to the manufacturing facility in New Orleans. Developed alternative foam application processes. Staff Engineer-Systems Test 1995 2006 Developed the Concept of Operations for the design of the facilities and mechanical lifting equipment to process the NASA Orbital Space Plane. Assisted Operations team for Lockheed Martin Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) proposal for Space Shuttle replacement to NASA. Prepared Small Business Subcontractor Statements of Work (SOW), a list of Operations Information Technology tools and Operations Basis of Estimates (BOE) for the CEV (Orion) proposal won by Lockheed Martin.

Staff Engineer-Systems Test 1995 2006 Managed numerous mechanical test teams in performing manufacturing sub-system and system level tests on a Titan Centaur launch vehicle. Tests included propulsion and pneumatic subsystems, vacuum pumping and mechanisms, and system level acoustic and thermal environment testing in a test chamber. Maintained test discipline while documenting and resolving any test discrepancies to verify all requirements were met. Prepared test reports to report all testing activities and verifications. Equipment for a vital pressure test on a missile was unavailable so collaborated with the tooling department to develop the specifications, design and manufacture of the previously nonexistent test equipment. Pressure test was conducted successfully to meet program schedule. Ensured compliance of Test Policies, Procedures and Practices for a successful ISO 9001 audit Assigned to Temporary Duty (TDY) in San Diego for nine months to assist with the testing of Atlas and Titan Centaur upper stage vehicles during successful transition to Denver including supervising 25 in-unit personnel. Staff Engineer-Mechanical Systems 1989 1994 Presented successful Denver management reviews of launch pad modifications for two Titan II launches. Saved hundreds of man-hours by identifying and implementing improvements to launch vehicle processing while maintaining 100% Mission Success. Directed numerous launch vehicle lifting movements with 100% success and no hardware damage to meet all schedule requirements.
