Ans. Yes Ministry of External affairs has certified the certificate of IIE.

Students who take admission TMIIE (DIPIIE/DMIIE) or AMIIE of Indian Institution of Engineer,
should read and clearly understand all the rules & regulation before taking the membership for
student examinations. Our Membership for TMIIE (DIPIIE/DMIIE) or AMIIE are totally
autonomous. We hereby make it clear to one and all that the activities like misguiding students if

Q.15 What is AMIIE or DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE?

Ans. AMIIE is Associate Membership of Indian Institution of Engineers examination that is


conducted by Indian Institutions of Engineers. AMIIE is a professional engineering degree
certification provided by IIE.DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE is an engineering diploma certification provided
by IIE. It is an alternative option for those who cannot pursue for an engineering degree or
diploma course as a regular student in an engineering college.

Q.16 Is an AMIIE degree or DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE diploma equivalent to Engineering Degree or Diploma?

Ans. An AMIIE degree or DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE is equivalent to any other engineering degree or


diploma approved by Central Government Departments, UPSC, SSC, AICTE or any other
engineering degree approved by state governments. After completing AMIIE degree or DIPIIE-
TMIIE-DMIIE diploma, the candidate can also opt for higher studies such as bachelor’s degree
after diploma or master’s degree in engineering after AMIIE. The candidates are also then eligible
to work with any private or government organization as per their respective field of
specialization.

Q.17 What is IIE?

Ans. IIE is a multi- disciplinary engineering organization that provides a platform to promote
professional studies in approximately 50 disciplines of engineering.

Q.18 What is the advantage of AMIIE or DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE over a regular Engineering Course?

Ans. A person who is working can study this course without affecting their job. The person may
be employed in India or Abroad but wishes to pursue the engineering degree and improve their
position and future prospects by passing examinations.

Q.19 What are the age criteria for a candidate to be elected as a Member?

Ans. The candidate should be 16 years of age on the date of application.

Q.20 Where is the IIE Examination conducted?

Ans. Examination is conducted in 119 centres in India and abroad. A candidate may appear at any
of the centers according to his preference by mentioning the exam centre code of the desired
centre in the examination form.

Q.21 Who is eligible to take IIE exam?

Ans. The IIE exam may only be taken by the members of the Indian Institution of Engineers
according to their eligibility and qualifications. To appear for AIEEE, the candidate should be the
member of IIE (Associate Member or Technician/Diploma membership), depending upon stream

Q.22 What is the duration of each IIE exam?

Ans. The duration is 3 hrs. for an IIE exam.

Q.23 Is a degree holder eligible for the entrance exams required for admission into further post-
graduation programs and civil services?

Ans. An AMIIE degree holder is eligible for taking examinations like GRE, GATE, Civil Services and
Indian Engineering services.

Q.24 When is the IIE examination held during the year?

Ans. The IIE examination is held mostly twice a year. It is conducted mostly in June and
December and is termed as summer and Winter Examination respectively.

Q.25 What is the syllabus of AMIIE or DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE?

Ans. The syllabus for AMIIE is almost similar to that of B.E. or B.Tech. The syllabus has two parts,
called Section A and Section B. First, Section A should be cleared and then Section B. Similarly
DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE is almost equivalent to Diploma Engineering. The syllabus has two parts,
called Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 should be cleared and then Part 2.

Q.26 What are Section A and Section B of AMIIE syllabus and Part 1 and Part 2 of DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE?

Ans. Section A or Part 1 consists of fundamentals of Engineering where as in Section B or Part 2


the candidate has to select one of the branches of Engineering available.

Q.27 Where is the exam application form submitted?

Ans. The Exam application form is submitted in the prescribed format to the IIECENTRE.

Q.28 What is the duration of completion of AMIIE or DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE?

Ans. IIE provides flexibility of duration for completion of Academic Membership. A candidate may
take up to 6 years for the completion of all the subjects in Section A or Part 1 another 6 years for
the completion of Section B or Part 2.

Q.29 Is AMIIE or DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE a computer based exam?

Ans. AMIIE or DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE is a written type where there is no Viva, no internal assessment
and no Practical exam.

Q.30 What is the AMIIE or DIPIIE-TMIIE-DMIIE exam pattern?

Ans. Each AMIIE exam paper is of three hours of duration. The exact dates and the details of the

Q.31 Who is the responsible authority for IIE exam?

Ans. Indian Institution of Engineers, conducts exam and issues certificates. The IIE Institution is
not involved in the preparation for the exams.

Q.34 Is it possible to take Academic Membership exam in Hindi?

Ans. The candidate can take Academic Membership exam in Hindi medium, provided the
candidate has passed in Hindi medium. Then both the sections, have to be taken in Hindi. IIE
mentions that the candidate has passed in Hindi in the final certificate.
