Cargo Wise Update Note 20230206
Summary
Campaign content designer has been removed from the Campaign Manager module. You can
import HTML content created using 3rd party tools. This has been the most common practice
among our users currently. Other ways of content creation are suggested later in this document.
The on-screen content viewer shows the content in HTML. This will allow making minor amends to
the content or inserting macros at relevant places. The content can be previewed using the
‘Preview Content’ link.
Description
Campaign Manager provides an effective means of shortlisting and selecting campaign recipients
based on multiple criteria, and subsequently in tracking campaign receipt. It also facilitates setting
up staged campaigns to ensure targeted reach.
While campaign designer (WYSIWYG content creation) was an important aspect of the campaign
manager; there are several high-quality content creation tools (at times for free) available
elsewhere. Many campaign users are already using such tools to create content, uploading it in
campaign manager and using campaign manager thereafter. In some instances, the usability of
such third party tools have been claimed superior to the one offered in campaign manager.
The campaign designer (Designer Mode) is no longer available in the Email Content tab of the
Campaign record. Content is displayed in HTML format.

The ‘Preview Content’ link allows the content preview using the default browser on your PC. Further,
ticking the ‘Enable Macro Simulation’ from the Macros section shall reveal the macro values during
preview:
While it is possible to type in HTML content in the ‘Content in HTML’ section, using a third party
tool to generate HTML content externally, and then Upload it in Campaign Manager is the most
efficient way.
Note: Campaigns can also be created with Microsoft Word, in a Document Web Layout View,
then saved as Web Page Filtered before being Uploaded into Campaign Manager.
Further information in the Update Note: Uploading Word Documents into Campaign Manager as
Web Page Filtered (*.htm, *.html)
Once a content is available on the campaign, macros can be added, by clicking on the relevant
section of the content, then selecting the macro and clicking ‘Insert Macro’. Alternately, if you
would like to insert the macro while generating content on the third party content creation tool;
you can select a macro, use ‘Copy macro’ to copy it and then insert it at a relevant place in the
content in the creation tool.
