BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Upon the completion and a thorough review of a research paper, the final part of the entire
research process is the research presentation. Commonly conducted in the presence of a pool of
panel experts, the oral presentation of research is undertaken to check the research by evaluating
the study then considering the comments and suggestions given by the panel. The following
guidelines may be observed upon the conduct of oral presentation:
1. Study the research paper. A well-studied research report implies that you know very well what
you have done in your research. The panelists are able to detect
whether there is mastery of the report.
2. Prepare a PowerPoint presentation. You should include only the important details in the
presentation such as a brief background of the study,
problems, methods used, results, conclusions, and
recommendations. Avoid too much animation. Make
your presentation simple.
3. After the presentation, expect that there will be questions from the experts.
4. Be courteous and tactful in answering the questions given by the panel of experts.
5. Dress properly. Ask your adviser for the dress code required in the school.

A Research may be presented through:

1. Professional meetings – open forums is an important part of this where the presenter must
anticipate reactions but if the research is well-studied and presented
(scholarly written), questions should cause no difficulty and worry
2. Conferences – presenter has a wider audience, panel of experts (often times, the study needs
to be forwarded to the panel earlier than the scheduled presentation)
3. Online research presentation – not seeing your audience may be unsettling to others but a
study can actually be presented virtually with almost the same
guidelines in face-to-face presentation but this time, the
presenter must add to her/his preparation the tools and
platforms s/he will utilize (often times, platforms are given by
the host)
4. Publication – research studies can be published for wider dissemination so the researcher must
cope with the criteria set by research publishers locally and internationally
