C. Lesson Proper

So, Aquatics are Various water sports or

aquatics include water polo,
synchronized swimming, diving,
snorkeling, surfing, sailing, and any
sport that can be played in a pool or
other bodies of water, among these
sports, swimming is one of the most
adopted sports in schools.

Swimming is a Life Skill You Must Learn.

It has many benefits and applications
in life, it as an important life
skill everyone needs to learn whether as
a child or in adulthood. The most
important aspect of knowing how to
swim is staying safe in and around
water.

Here are some water sports that we can

learn and discuss.

1. Water polo is a competitive

team sport played in the water
between two teams. The game
consists of four quarters in which
the two teams attempt to score
goals by throwing the ball into
the opposing team’s goal. The
team with the most goals at the
end of the game wins the match.
Each team is made up of six field
players and one goalkeeper.
Except for the goalkeeper,
players participate in both
offensive and defensive roles.
Water polo is typically played in
an all-deep pool meaning that
players cannot touch the bottom.
2. Synchronized swimming,
referred to by international
governing body FINA as artistic
swimming since 2017, is a hybrid
form of swimming, dance, and
gymnastics, consisting of
swimmers performing a
synchronized routine of elaborate
moves in the water, accompanied
by music.
3. Diving (sport) - the sport of
jumping into deep water
4. Underwater Diving - human
activity underwater for
recreational or occupational
purposes
5. Snorkeling is the practice of
swimming on or through a body
of water while equipped with a
diving mask, a shaped breathing
tube called a snorkel, and usually
swim fins. In cooler waters, a
wetsuit may also be worn.
6. Surfing is a surface water
sports in which the wave rider,
referred to as a surfer, rides on
the forward or face of a
moving wave, which usually
carries the surfer towards
the shore. Waves suitable for
surfing are primarily found in
the ocean, but can also be found
in lakes or river in the form of
a standing wave or tidal bore.
However, surfers can also utilize
artificial waves such as those
from boat wakes and the waves
created in artificial wave pools.
7. Sailing is a green activity, is
wind powered, and is fulfilling for
anyone at any age. This is the
lifestyle you’ve been dreaming
about—to share with family and
friends close to home or in
magnificent cruising grounds
around the world. Whether you’re
interested in day sailing, cruising,
competitive racing, or charter
vacations, there is a sailboat for
you and a lifetime of sailing
adventures ahead.

Now, let’s learn more about swimming.

Here are the different swimming strokes
you must learn.

a. Butterfly- the arms move

together, cupping the water
downward and outward, moving
above the water to complete the
arm movement. The legs are
bent and straightened kicking
two times for every arm stroke
b. Breast Stroke- the arms pulled
the water and are brought to
chest, before going to back
position. The legs perform frog
kick.
c. Freestyle- flutter kicks is used
with arm strokes as of a windmill.
The swimmer times their breaths
with each arm pull.
d. Crawl- arm strokes are
performed with flutter kicks,
while the face turns alternately
from one side to the other
e. Sidestroke - the body is
oriented sideways and by scissors
kick and underwater stroke.
f. Backstroke- the swimmer floats
n a supine position, and the arm
strokes are performed in a
windmill fashion, while
performing flutter kicks.
g. Dog paddle- the legs perform
an underwater modified flutter
kick, while the arms reach
forward and paddle in a circular
manner.

Health Benefits of Swimming

because you need to move your
whole body against the resistance of
the water. It is also a good all-round
activity because it keeps your heart
rate up but takes some of the impact
stress off your body
 builds endurance, muscle strength
and cardiovascular fitness
 helps maintain a healthy weight,
healthy heart and lungs
 tones muscle and builds strength
