Dear Ma’am,
I am writing to apply for the position of High School Teacher in Dulag National
High School. It is a great pride and honor that I am seeking a High School Teacher
position in your school. I am very proud that I am graduate of your institution.
I am newly fresh graduate of the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in
English in Pangasinan State University (PSU). I read your qualifications that you are
looking for and I would like to say that I am fit for the position of High School Teacher. I
have passion for teaching and I have taught previously to the high school students
when I had an OJT and to tutor my neighbor’s daughter and also my cousins and
brother. I also experience to teach in Sunday’s school where I taught the kids about
God and The Bible. For my skills, I am good at communication to the kids or students
and also to my co- teachers that I encountered. I use my creativity skill for my students
to become an interesting and enjoy their subject. I do that to help them understand way
better my lessons. I am also good at understanding the potential within each student,
encouraging them to pursue their dreams and ability to guide them in every step that
they make. As a teacher, I am responsible to motivate and inspire the students by
crediting their hard works that they do.
My skills and experience will surely be beneficial for all the students. I hope that
you will give me a chance to teach in your school and also to pursue my dreams as a
Teacher. I will be very glad to look forward and give me an opportunity to hear from you
an interview to discuss for more details about my qualifications.

 Preface

I am Sharmaine De Guzman who is a shy person because of my insecurities but

I can be a confident woman who can do anything for the opportunities that came in my
life. I have so many skills that can help me to become a successful woman but I'm also
lazy and moody when I have no more social battery or I don't want to talk to somebody
when my time is for myself. I really love to spend time alone and there's me watching,
sleeping and doing my hubbies in life. However, I am making this portfolio to present my
best and hard work in different subjects that I take when I am in Grade 11 and Grade 12
HUMSS.

In different subjects, the artifacts that I chose are my best and favorite works
because I spent more days and time, I also had a sleepless nights to do those works to
finish it. Sometimes, because of my negative thoughts and not believing myself I missed
the opportunities that came into my life. Therefore, because of the subjects that I take
when the quarantine started the reflection of myself is I need to believe in myself more
than others. I will stop thinking negatively and not ruining my confidence. I learned that I
must work hard to achieve a high grades that I want and satisfy the pressure of my self.
There's no one to help you but you or yourself only. I also learned that you need to take
a pause or rest, there's no need to continue doing it even if you're drained because you
will be tired and breaking down. I learned those important lessons in different subjects
that I can take and will apply in my life.

 This is my module era when the pandemic lasts. Before I went to school when
we agree to the face to face classes, I experienced have a paper works in our house. It
is hard to do it because we we’re doing a school works at the same time we’re doing
household chores. This is the era where I also having a hard time doing my school
works and family problems. But I’m glad that I overcome this challenges because of the
people who believed in me that I can do it.

 This is also a paper works of mine that I did when still quarantine. I remember
doing it 9 am to 5 pm to finish all my school works and then rest after doing it. Still trying
hard to answer those modules to pass all of my subjects. Gladly, I surpassed this school
works until when they said that we’ll have a face to face classes. I learned to this
subject all of the social works and those works are important in our lives that is also the
same in DIASS.

 This is memorable in our subject in Malikhaing Pagsulat (Filipino) or Creative
Writing (English). We do a role play in our classroom that is a failed role play but at the
same time we enjoy it. I remember the time after we presented our role play to Ma’am
Garay I called my members because I am not satisfied to their performance that they
did in our role play. Some are not serious and also they read our script in their
cellphone. I thought we will receive a low grades but I’m glad we’re not. After all, we

enjoy the role play because they made our classmates laugh. I just learned to this
subject is to become a serious and immediately follow what the leader says because
the one who will suffer is the student who practiced perfectly the role play and also the
leader. Do not be a burden to your groupmates that can destroy the practiced they
prepared.

In the photo above where I print my travelogue to pass it to Ma'am Salazar our
creative nonfiction subject teacher is also my best work. This is the time where our
teacher asked us to make a travelogue and which place we went to. I travel in many
places but I choose those places because that was the one good looking and best place
that I travel in my life. I also chose those because that was memorable and a happy
moment that I will never forget in my life.

 I learned that this subject is all about the different genre between nonfiction and
fiction. It is focused on a story that has a narrative plot , rising and falling action, climax
and denouement just like fiction. Yet, nonfiction is based on truth and an accurate
retelling of the author's life experiences just like telling your life story.

This is the subject where we learned about the politics and also the government.
The photo above is my drawing about what’s happening in our country just like in the
big picture that is vote buying. Vote buying is always done by the running candidates in
our community and government. For example, they will buy the vote of a person or
people like giving some money or products and goods to like and vote them. After the
running candidates win the hearts of the people, of course people will vote them and the

running candidates will have a position in the government then they will be a corrupt. I
realized that our country will not improve because of the corrupt people who have a
position in the government.

The photo above is my best work in ITWR when I was in Grade 11 because this
is the drawing where I described and explained that is connected to our subject. The

explanation above is “Unity acknowledges that all of the world greats religion have
similar essential values. It honors the precious Truth of God by celebrating the diversity
of religious views and expressions. People from all denominations and traditions visit
our spiritual centers.” I learned about this subject is the importance of knowing the
religions and beliefs in different countries. We should respect their traditional traditions,
norms and beliefs because we are interconnected.

The photo above is the best artwork of mine that I did in this subject. I worked
this at our home when we had online learning. I did this as my performance task in this

subject so I work hard to draw and color this even though I don't know how to color my
drawings because I am not used to it but I really tried my best and I am happy that the
result is actually nice. I learned that this subject is about the technologies in this 21st
century culture. The technologies that we used are somehow positive and negative to
our nature. And a reflection to myself that self-belief and hard work will always earn you
success by Virat Kohil. I just believe in myself that I can do it and my hard work is
always worth it in the end.

The image above is where we are doing a community mapping in our house that
Sir Iglesias wants us to do to complete our grades. It is hard because I don’t know how
to do a 3d collage but I tried my best to do it to help my group mates. We do team work

and work hard to finish it immediately. I found it challenging and interesting to do it
because it’s also my first time doing a 3d collage that I never imagined that I can do
good work. I also enjoy because of my group mates that I talk to while doing it. “Alone,
we can do so little; we can do so much” by Hellen Keller. The meaning is we do it alone,
it will take time to finish but it will finish faster than we thought if we work hard together.
I learned that the CESC is all about the ideas and methods of social sciences
that you will need to understand, explore, and look into the challenges of the
community.

MY EXPERIENCES BEING A GRADE 12 STUDENT

 My experience being a Grade 12 students is tiring and draining but also a
meaningful, memorable and happy moments of our life. Many pictures that I can insert
above but I chose those moments because that was the best I ever experienced in my
life. I will never forget this because this is one of the reason why I grow and who am I
today. I learned to be a strong and have a courage to face the struggles in my life and
enjoy life when we are young. Because we will never experienced this moment again if
we were an adult and taking care of our responsibilities in life.

Personal Vision and Goals for the future

I can see myself ten years from now, where I am teaching my students in a good
school in short I can see myself becoming a successful licensed professional teacher
ten years from now. I can buy anything I want, a healthy and an independent woman. I
will be spending time with my family, friends and someone. I’ll be doing my dreams and
wish of my loved ones for example just like traveling around the world, they want to eat,
and can buy any things that they like without thinking about the price of the product. I
am also repaying my parents for hard work to me who help me grow, guide and support
for the decisions that I made. I might somehow achieve my peaceful and a happy life
with someone who I spend my life time with, enjoying my life that I wanted when I was a
kid and see myself becoming more confident and a successful woman.

To achieve those dreams, I have to study hard to be able to graduate and work
hard to pass the licensure exam and find a good job that can make me a professional
licensed and successful woman. If there are any challenges or problems that have
arrived, I need to face and surpassed it. Through these challenges, I want to continue to
grow as a person and learn new things to face the challenges or problems in the future.
Over the next few years, I will try to fulfill all of my plans and dreams with all my strength
and courage.
