We herald the new millennium in an era of unforeseen
challenges to the Indian Manufacturing Industries. As we gear
up to compete with the best in the world, acquisition of
knowledge and competencies will hold the key to survive in
future.

The contribution of Foundry and Forge industries will go a long way in helping the Indian Industries
in keeping pace with the evolutionary changes, predicted in the near future. With the advent of
automation and computer -numerically-controlled machines manufacturing and metallurgical
sector, NIFFT to broadened its initial objectives of Advanced Diploma Courses ( ADC ) in Foundry
and Forge Technology) in 1966 and introducing B.Tech programme in the year 1991 and M.Tech in
1985. The B.Tech programme was strongly recommended by the British experts and our innovative
pedagogy makes the more sought after in the industries. We have been bringing continual
changes in the course programme to make them equally demandable and industry oriented. I am
confident that these programmes will continue to groom better engineers and specialists who will
delineate the future.

National Institute of Advance Manufacturing
Technology Formerly NIFFT was set up by the
Government of India in collaboration with UNDP-
UNESCO to provide quality engineers and well
trained specialists for running Manufacturing,
Metallurgical, Foundry and Forge industries
efficiently. Since its inception in 1966, NIFFT has
earned a reputation of being a premier Institute
for imparting technical education, training,
research and development and consultancy in
the fields of foundry and forging technologies,
manufacturing, & metallurgy.
The admission to ADC programs is carried out
through the academics entrance exam. The
institute is also serving various industrial training,
consultancy and solving various industrial problem

PLACEMENTS
Industrial Liaison Cell (ILC)
The placement activities are managed by the Industrial Liaison Cell. The ILC is headed by one of the senior
faculty member. The Cell works in close coordination with student placement committee. The student
placement committee consists of two member chosen from each department of B.Tech. Course, one from
M.Tech and two from ADC. The placement committee corresponds with the prospective recruiters, arranges
Pre-placement talks and workshops and provides all the facilities required by the visiting companies. The
placement policies and other related activities are handled by Chairman ILC in consultation with the other ILC
faculty members and the student representatives. The companies are encouraged to contact ILC for initial
discussions and for confirming all schedules and all official communications.

Placement Procedure
 The Institute invites selected companies to the campus for placements.

 Company sends Job Notification Form(JNF) that includes:

1. CTC
2. Necessary arrangements for conducting interview process.
3. Vacancies
4. Discipline

 Companies express their interest in visiting the campus for placement.

 The company conducts pre-placement presentation and discussions with the students on campus, broadly
covering the company profile, the career growth path, the selection procedure and the emoluments
offered.

 The date for final recruitment is scheduled based on mutual understanding between the Institute and the
recruiting company.
