You might be wondering how can I say this...
I have been very successful throughout my
career, but there was a time I was
emotionally broke
I used to be very negative, sad, depressed and
became very lazy and procrastinating many
things
And I was completely exploited at work place.
I felt like a puppet in their hands...that lead
me, thinking about ending my life...
But I could not, as I have a small kid, my
pregnant wife and my parents to look after...
Then, I started exploring many things...
I attended many yoga retreats, visited spiritual
gurus, did meditation courses, learned martial
arts and used to listen to all kinds of
affirmations throughout the night.
I used to practice daily for 30 minutes all these
various approaches.
They were useful but the effect was
temporary. As soon as I enter into the same
situations, all the positivity used to disappear.
I want to have positivity that stays with me
forever!
And one day, I decided to find a permanent
solution for my problems.
That’s when I have started learning NLP.

what...Let’s take an example of a bottle
Perhaps you hear people using sound “ bottle”
to indicate an object
After few repetitions…you safely develop an
association between
sound of “bottle” and an object that is called
bottle
This is the
association…
A way to learn about the world
The second important principle is
generalization...
Generalization is the process by which
elements or pieces of a person’s experience
become detached from their original experience and
come to represent the entire category of which the
experience is an example.
For example for first few times a child is
around a rocking chair, he leans on the back
and falls over
he might come to a rule for himself that
rocking chairs are unstable and refuse to ever
try them again.
If that child begin to avoid leaning back on
chairs in general
due to the experience he had with a rocking
chair….
That is called generalization.
Remember this is a very natural process
Let’s compare one more example
As a kid if you touch a stove...
You learn to stay away from
similar kind of items, which
are not necessarily stoves….
One of my client Partha, 18 years ago was
travelling in a auto rickshaw
And suddenly that
auto met with an
accident, with 2
fatalities and Partha
survived...
But learned fear of
driving, in a single
instance...
He lived with that fear
until a personal
breakthrough session
from the above examples, recognize...
An auto accident ( where he is a passenger)
has been generalized into fear of driving
Therefore ….

that either repetitive low intensity experiences
and/or one high intensity experience is enough

Let’s see some more everyday applications of
whatever we have discussed so far...
You meet a person...and
have some kind of intense
experience
And that created intense emotions/feelings in
your body
almost instantly, that body sensation or feeling
is associated with
Sensory experience that is immediately
available for your senses...
And later works as cues to trigger that brain
program to produce the
Same/similar unpleasant/pleasant body
sensation or feeling or behaviour….
Which means…the way the opposite person
looks and his voice modulation
tone,words he/she uses and place, instantly
will get associated with the body feeling and
sensation of yours.
as a result of that, when ever throughout your
life, the same or similar words or tone or voice
modulation or even place are repeated…
instantly the same/similar old feeling comes
back to your body and that changes your
behaviour.
In most of the cases, you will have no idea of this
internal process and in some cases, even if you
know, can’t help it.
Problem Situations

Example 1 :

I always feel that way when I get into that


situation, and I wish I didn’t, but I don’t seem
to have any choice
Example 2 :
I prepare very well for upcoming exam or
interview and feel very confident,
Example 2 :
as soon as I enter into the exam hall or
interview room, I feel nervous
Example 2 :
and end up not responding properly to the
questions despite knowing the answers.
Example 3 :
I am just down a lot of time, and I don’t know
why
Example 4 :
Every time I want to do that, just I
can’t…something stops me.

I always feel bad with my response to my
