This video explains in a simple way basic points of the English language.
The first topic in the video is the alphabet. Which is widely used to spell our name,
surname, or any necessary word.
The English alphabet contains 26 letters. There is a song used as a strategy that is used to
learn the alphabet.
The next topic is "greetings." The most formal greetings in English are:
• Good morning
• Good afternoon
• Good evening
• Hello
• Hi
• Hey
• How are you?
• How is it going?
• How are you doing?
• What’s new?
Farewells in English

Next in the video the use of definite and indefinite articles is explained “THE, THAT,
THOSE, THESE, THIS”.
THE: used to refer to something we know and can identify. For example: the cat, the dog,
the house, etc.
THIS and THAT are used to refer to a singular thing and THESE and THOSE to refer to
more than one thing.
THIS and THESE are used to refer to something close to the speaker and THAT and
THOSE for things far away.
For example: This apple (Esta manzana), These fruits (Esas frutas), that apple (Esa
manzana), those fruits (Esas frutas).
Indefinite article A / An: Used to talk about something that we do not know or that we
cannot identify. In English there are only these two for their equivalent in Spanish (Un,
uno, una, unas). "A" is used when the word begins with a consonant and "An" when it
begins with a vowel. Some examples:
• A cats.
• A dog
• An ocean
• An apples.
