HOW TO USE THIS MODULE
Before you start answering the module, I want you to set aside other tasks
that will disturb you while enjoying the lessons. Read the simple instructions below
to successfully enjoy the objectives of this kit. Have fun!

1. Follow carefully all the contents and instructions indicated in every page of
this module.
2. Write on your notebook or any writing pad the concepts about the lessons.
Writing enhances learning, that is important to develop and keep in mind.
3. Perform all the provided activities in the module.
4. Let your facilitator/guardian assess your answers.
5. Analyze conceptually the posttest and apply what you have learned.
6. Enjoy studying!

Parts of the Module


 Expectations - These are what you will be able to know after completing the
lessons in the module.
 Pre-test - This will measure your prior knowledge and the concepts to be
mastered throughout the lesson.
 Looking Back - This section will measure what learnings and skills that you
understand from the previous lesson.
 Brief Introduction- This section will give you an overview of the lesson.
 Activities - These are activities designed to develop critical thinking and
other competencies. This can be done with or without a partner depending
on the nature of the activity.
 Remember - This section summarizes the concepts and applications of the

You will learn about things that are real and make-believe.
Specifically, this module will help you to:
1. Differentiate real from make-believe;
2. Decide if a sentence, a story or a picture is real or make-believe; and,
3. Write sentences that are real and make-believe.

Directions: Look at each picture then, read each sentence aloud. Circle the BOOK if
the sentence is FACT. Circle the FAIRY if the sentence is MAKE BELIEVE.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Read the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Question: Do you think everything in the story could actually happen?

Definition of Terms:
Real- things exist and we can see, hear, feel, taste or touch them.
Make-believe- is when something cannot happen in real life because it does not actually
exist.

Study each event in the story, analyze why they are real and why they are make-believe.
Here are some list of events in the story that are real:
1. Goldilocks was hungry and the porridge looked good.
2. Goldilocks woke up and jumped out of bed.
Here are some list of events in the story that are make-believe.
1. Father bear, mother bear and baby bear had very hot porridge for breakfast.
2. Baby bear said, “Somebody has been sitting in my chair and has broken it!”.

ACTIVITIES
Activity 1.1
Objective: Identify if the sentence is real or make-believe. Circle the correct answer for each
sentence.

Activity 1.2
Think of a story you heard before about an animal. Recall what happened to the
story. Cut a picture of that animal and paste inside the circle. On the left side of
the box, write 2 sentences that you remember the animal did in the story that you
think can never happen in real life. On the left side, write 3 sentences that
tell real things about the animal.
