TRADITIONAL POLITICS
Most of the Filipino believe that the Philippines political system and culture is corrupt. It is because of
the people who side with corrupt or they called them as “TRAPO”, a traditional politician who build their
own dynasties in the Philippine Government. Here in the Philippine, we experience different kind of
promises of change and compromise family system but in reality, it is not. We have a several family who
are very famous with their ways, one example of that are the Aquino’s regime and Marcos regime.
People called them traditional politicians claim that they served this country to fight corruption and
pave the wave to a new Philippine Government but in the end, they got a lot of ill-gotten wealth and
public property became their own property. The government of the Philippines has fallen into the hands
of the most backward, most violent wing of the “Trapo” dynasties. Many politicians wears two-faced
mask for their own sake. It is their weapons and shield to protect their own chair and position in the
Government.
The Youth are the hope our Nation. Our latest issues and talks about Sangguniaang Kabataan Elections.
Some says that youth cannot hold big responsibility and it is a platform where corruption falls.
Postponing Sangguniang Kabataan was there proposal and let the budget of the Youth allocate to more
effective and efficient branch of the Government. It is possible to trust and fight for our youth’s right to
be more responsible for their action in their position is a big yes for me as a youth. Let us invest to the
future of this nation.
It is a shame that some netizens and activist trying to compare the Beautification of Manila to poverty,
hunger, COVID-19 Problems and called it a traditional politics ways. Remember, the Philippines is a
country and there are many aspects to deal with to survive. In addition, these activists are obviously
ways of other party-list “trapos”. Obviously, being paid for a worthless and stupid thinking from the
opposition. It is only in the Philippines where activist compare the issue that are very different. We
should change the way we think. The Government does correct things which has been an issue for
several years.
It is my humble opinion, health and economic challenges, transparency and accountability have fallen to
the wayside and in the process has created more opportunities for corruption. With traditional anti-
corruption policies insufficient in this new context of the pandemic, we must turn to innovative solutions
to fight trapos and corruptions and uphold the public rights and interest.
