• Able to save programs to the PC, and re-load them into your control if you get
the job back again later. (Instead of wasting all the time re-programming it --
and re-proving-out the program -- it each time you get the job back).
• Have programs ready for the next jobs while the current job is still running --
significant increase in chip-cutting time versus set-up time.
II- MazaCAM CAD/CAM & converting programs from one control to another
• You can change a program from one CNC to another without re-programming
the part: Save time if you need to switch to run the job on another machine.
Save prove-out time, because the general cutting was already proven out
once.
• Some customers (e.g. car manufacturers, etc.) are requiring machine shops
to take the information electronically -- i.e. no more paper blueprint. If you
cannot read their CAD file electronically, they will not do business with you.
• Able to take on jobs you would not even consider due to the complexity.
• Reading in a CAD file is as easy as opening a file in the regular way (not a
separate program that you have to run as with most other systems, then you
have to figure out where the file went, and re-enter the file name, and figure
out what is really going on, etc.)
• Splines are useless in the other systems. MazaCAM can convert splines to
arcs and lines. And guess what: Most CAD files these days from big
manufacturers contain splines!
• If you have engineers designing the parts in CAD, the NC programmer can
simply access that CAD file after it is created.
V- MazaCAM CAD/CAM & lettering/engraving
• You can do your own in-house
engraving of part-numbers or labeling:
save the cost, time, and trouble of
sending the work out to be done by an
engraving shop.
• Single method of programming all the machines in your shop. You do not
have to learn a different system for each machine. Versus if an employee
specializes in one machine, you cannot easily have him work another
machine due to workload or another employee absent.
• We care about our customers -- some people no longer pay attention to you
after they get your check -- they consider they "delivered" once they gave you
the disks and manuals.
• Geopath CAD/CAM has been around since 1975 -- 28 years -- in our third
decade. We know a lot about the industry; our software has been through
more years of use in the field; we are going to be around a lot longer than
many others that come and go.
