GARMENTS PROJECT REPORT

INTRODUCTION
The Indian textile industry has already established its name in supplying
high quality yarns and fabrics to the world markets. However, it is yet to
make an impact in finished products. It only makes sense to go in for
further value added products such as garments and leverage on the
country in established name in the export markets. Naturally many
textiles companies have announced plans to diversify into value added
business to target a higher realization and compete better in the export
markets
Ready-made garments are mass-produced finished textile products of
the clothing industry. They are not custom tailored according to
measurements,but rather generalized according
to anthropometric studies. They are made from many
different fabrics and yarns. Their characteristics depend on the fibers
used in their manufacture. Ready-made garments are divided into the
following types: Outer clothing: work wear and uniform, leisure wear,
sportswear (e.g. suits, pants, jackets, coats, sports jackets, skirts, shirts
(short- or long-sleeved), ties, jeans, shorts, T-shirts, polo shirts, sports
shirts, tracksuits, bathing shorts, bathing suits, etc.) Underclothing
(underwear): jersey goods.
Indian Textile Industry enjoys inherent comparative advantages because
it is almost self-reliant from the stage of production of raw materials to
the delivery of finished products-from cotton growing, ginning,
spinning, and weaving to manufacturing of clothing items. The world is
fast moving towards natural products and as a result of this trend,
demand for cotton garment is increasing.
The business of readymade garments is increasing day by day due to
changes of fashions in human life. The business is not only in India,
there is a big export market. In the readymade garments sector Jean
pants is showing good growth in local and export market. There are
number of branded readymade garments manufacturing Units in India.
Even though the small scale units also surviving in the country because
of varieties. Besides being one of the favorite ie.jeans have also gained
popularity as a casual wear too. These days several companies are into
the business of making jeans pants and also supplementary items
likebuttons, zips etc.
The demand for readymade garments is increasing at around 18-20 %
annually in the country. The popularity of jean pants is good among
youth and fashion conscious public. The domestic market and the export
market are growing rapidly and the unit for manufacturing can be run
quite successfully if they can tap the market giving good price and
quality
The manufacturing process is depends on skills of the workers. Required
cloth to be cut in to required sizes and design as per the measurements of
the latest designs. Then the required lining ,button stitching , zip etc. are
added to the semi finished fabric and finished garments is ready for
placing and marketing.
The textile industry is the maximum revenue gathering industry in the
country. The industry can be divided in to two segments, the natural
fiber segment and the man made synthetic fiber segment. The industry
even after the introduction of power – driven machines or mechanical
process of button holding, stitching or embroidery, continued to
remain labour intensive and cheap labour is our forte. The overall
demand of clothing has gone up in the state because of increasing
degree of industrialization, effecting clothing habits. The increasing
level of communication leading to increased travel and tourism has in
turn created the demand for both seasonal and occasional clothing.

The objectives of production planning in garment industry in detail

can be enumerated as follows:
1. To determine capacity of all garment manufacturing departments
and to plan systematically to meet sales requirements.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Process of manufacturing
Garment processing has grown to a great extent during the past few
years. This growth can be attributed mainly to the denim garments,
which is the largest garment segment today.

Garment finishing is mainly done through wet processing. Garments are

dyed for imparting color to them. Proper finishing can provide a better
look to the apparel, change the feel and texture of the fabric, and can
also add value to the end-product. Various types of finishes are given to
the garments which include peach finish, anti-microbial finish, wrinkle
free finish, aroma finish, UV guard finish, acid wash, enzyme wash,
moisture management, laser coating etc. The factors to be considered
while processing include the choice of chemicals, production limitations
and types of machinery used. Usually garment processing is done on
small scale which minimizes the damage risk. If some changes are to be
made or the process of finishing has to be replaced, it could be done
easily in small scale productions.

We consider six stages:

 Cotton

 Cleaning and spinning the cotton to make fabrics

 Fabric dying
 Designing with a sustainable purpose

PRODUCTION PROCESS:

Process of Manufacture: The manufacturing process involves the

following steps:
Procurement of Fabrics

Procurement of Fabric: Dyed/bleached/printed cotton/synthetic fabrics

as per demand are to be procured from the open market. The fabric will
be inspected by laying on the inspection table against light before cutting
so that unevenness in colour/shade or any other fault, if any visible in
the fabric are eliminated.
Cutting and Stitching: The inspected fabric is placed on the cutting
table in layers and then the different parts of the respective garments are
demarked by a chalk as per different sizes. Cutting is carried out by the
cutting machine. Stitching is carried out for individual portion of the
garments by skilled workers with the help of over-lock, lock stitch
machines etc.
Washing, Checking, Pressing and Packing:
All garments are charged into washing machine containing mild
detergent and washed for 4 hours in order to remove dirt and stains
acquired during the manufacturing process. After washing, the garments
are hydro extracted to remove excess water and after this, these
garments are dried in tumbler dryer. Final checking is done before
pressing and packing on the checking table so that any fault in the piece
may be removed and protruding threads eliminated. The individual
pieces are pressed by steam presses to remove any wrinkle marks and
packed in the carton boxes.

QUALITY CONTROL & STANDARD:

The quality of garments mainly depends on quality of fabric used.
Therefore, care must be taken while purchasing fabrics to ensure good
colorfastness properties, uniformity in shade etc. Generally garments are made as per
customer's specification in respect of size, design and fashion.

MOTIVE POWER REQUIRED:

The power required for this project to run effectively Total 60 HP is

required to run this unit at installed capacity but our aim is to reduce the
energy consumption for base load system and create a sustaining
comfortable working condition in the facility. The facility consists
mainly of factory area.

POLLUTION CONTROL:
The process of manufacture does not generate pollution. However, we
have planned to are to contact State Pollution Control Board for
necessary guidance.

ENERGY CONSERVATION:

Before procuring the machinery and other electrical items from the
market from the procurement team a deep analysis of the items and the
feedback from the other users will be considered before the purchase and
installation
More concentration will be taken on this aspect because it will be
reflected on month on month electricity bill. Maximum care should be
taken while selecting the machinery and other electrical equipments so
as to ensure minimum power consumption.
Commercial viability:
Two major aspects to be concentrated is developing and assessing the
feasibility of the project concept and assessing the feasibility of the
project concept
Appraising whether the project is a good public investment decision
based on an economic viability analysis

This project clearly defined and appraised. Project definition includes

the description of the physical facilities that will be constructed, the
technology to be used, the outputs to be provided, and the identification
of the end-users. Capital, operating, and maintenance costs is estimated
for five years as well as any revenue expected to be generated. The
construction team keenly focuses on output and refrains from specifying
the technologies, inputs, and processes to be used.

The project is tested for feasibility across several dimensions:

 Technical feasibility: This project is can be implemented as

planned, using proven technologies, and without unreasonable technical
risks, and to be concentrate on the employee safety in mind. The
following issues are taken into consideration. Required technology is
available, required resources are available
Manpower- programmers, testers & debuggers, Software and hardware.
Once the technical feasibility is established, management has considered
the monetary factors also. Since it might happen that developing a
particular system may be technically possible but it may require huge
investments and benefits may be high. For evaluating this, economic
feasibility of the proposed system is carried out.
This assessment focuses on the technical resources available for the
organization. This analysis determines whether the technical
resources meet capacity and whether the technical team is capable
of converting the ideas into working systems. Technical feasibility
involves evaluation technology requirements of the proposed
system. It lays out details on how good the service will be delivered, it
also concentrates on transportation, business location, and technology
needed, materials and labor.

 Legal feasibility: there is no any legal barriers for this project to

be executed because It includes study concerning contracts, liability,
violations this assessment investigates whether any aspect of the
proposed project conflicts with legal requirements Like zoning
laws, data protection acts, or social media laws. An organization
wants to construct a new building in a specific location. A strong
feasibility study is made it reveal the organization’s ideal location
for this type of business. That organization has just saved
considerable time and effort by learning that their project is feasible
right from the beginning. therefore there is no restriction in the legal
aspects
 Economic Feasibility : This assessment typically focus on a
cost/ benefits analysis of the project, helping organizations
determine the viability, cost, and benefits associated with a project
before financial resources are allocated. It also serves as an
independent project assessment and enhances project credibility
helping organizational decision makers determine the positive
economic benefits to the organization that the proposed project will
provide.
 Environmental and social sustainability: An important
component of positive development outcomes is the environmental and
social sustainability of projects, which we expect to achieve by applying
a comprehensive set of environmental and social performance standards.
organization recognizes that social and environmental sustainability
are fundamental to the achievement of sustainable development
outcomes, and therefore must be fully integrated into our
Programmes and Projects.  To ensure this we have the following
key policies, procedures and accountability mechanisms in place to
underpin our support to country .This project to be executed because
there is no harmful waste is provided in the aspect of raw material waste,
are with any letting out of gases. Hence there is no restriction for
executing this project. This project will help people to provide job
opportunity as well as the end product will have a good reach in the
market. Hence the income will be increased and it will help in increasing
the per capita income as well as the GDP.
Areas that organization concentrate:

 Incorporating sustainability criteria in the organization’s

purchasing evaluations

 Develop monitoring mechanisms and assessments to promote

vendor compliance in the supply chain.

 Stimulating innovation via e.g. Crowd-sourcing, functional

specifications and piloting innovative technologies

 Better Integration of procurement at the project design stages.

MARKETING STARTGIES:
NOTE:
These strategies are formulated according to the needs and wants of
reaching the end customer. We directly deal with the end customer as
well we equally concentrate on the wholesalers, retailers who directly
bring us more requirements which well directly react on the increase in
the sales and increase the profit. Hence the below strategies will be
applied to them with a slight variations.
The fashion industry is one of the most dynamic and thriving industries
in the world. It combines a vast variety of activities, from the proper
production of products, the transformation of prime materials, and the
creation of articles of clothing, One of the skeletal supports of this sector
is the point of sale. The retail market These businesses have been left to
use their creativity to put plans into action in order to draw clients into
their locales. It’s essential to open effective lines of communication with
our organization.

Offline, at the very point of sale. Create signs to ensure that offers reach
customers. This advertises promotions and adds value to our products.

Online. Having an online presence is essential in such a competitive

sector as the textile industry. It’s true that not all businesses can or
should be online, but if it’s within the abilities of the business to open
themselves up to the internet, our organization shouldn’t pass up the
opportunity to explore this outlet. Currently, within countries such as
the United Kingdom and the United States, between 14 and 19% of total
profits for national clothing businesses comes from online channels.
hence our organization should top the online market in garments with
providing a quality product and ensure it reaches the customer on time
and satisfy their needs.

As a marketing tool we organizing parties and activities is a way to

attract both faithful clients and those that don’t know what they can find
in your store. The recommended course of action is to prepare an
agenda in which events are laid out at the beginning of the year so that
events can be planned with time, using the proper marketing tools, and
taking advantage of efficient communication channels. The most
appropriate times to ‘make noise’ within the fashion industry are the
following:

 Kick off of a new season (spring, summer, autumn, winter) with

a showroom and a fashion show where some of the star pieces
from the company are shown to the public.
 When sales start and during tax season, reach consumers with
an invitation to a special celebration where we can offer added
value, not just a promotion or sale price.

 Celebrate anniversaries or special dates in the life of the

business, such as when the business turns another year older or
if there is a desire to commemorate a concrete moment that is
important to the business. Take advantage of these occasions to
invite those that follow you and cast a spotlight on your brand.

 Create special sales to liquidate clothing that is leftover from a

season that is almost over or create events surrounding specific
pieces. One day could be declared “blazer day” with discounts
for those that want this indispensable wardrobe piece or we can
make “purse weekend” with promos for these clothing.

CONCLUSION:

We want to offer a global shopping experience to the user that is fully

satisfactory. We hook our clients with a providing a best quality we
induces the business invites the consumer to lose themselves amongst
the clothes, they decide to shop something more the packaging enamors
them more! There are very interesting tendencies that exist that push for
the use of cardboard and recycled paper to wrap up the products.
Another idea is to include a few sweets to the bag and a business card.
Of course, a coupon that can be used for a discount on future sales or
offering them a fashion magazine can help, too. If special dates such as
Valentine’s Day and Christmas are other celebrations we make sure to
include festive packaging elements related to the holiday. This is
something that customers will appreciate.
These are some ideas which we have generated for clothing that can be
used to improve organization point of sale marketing strategies. They are
details that will cause the consumer to remember us, speak well of us,
and likely return for a repeat experience. It is within these small things
that the charm of a business resides.
