Introduction

SWOT is defined as Strength it describe what an organization excels at and what

separates it from the competition. A strong brand, loyal customer base, a strong balance

sheet, unique technology, and so on. Weaknesses the areas where the business needs

to improve the remain competitive: a weak brand, higher- than-average turnover, high

level of debt, an inadequate supply chain, or lack of capital. Opportunity it refers to

favorable external factors that could give an organization a competitive advantage, and

Threat refer to the factors that have the potential to harm an organization All of this are

framework for identifying and analyzing the internal and external factors that can have

an impact on the viability of a project, product, place or person and is designed to

facilitate a realistic, fact-based, data-driven look at the strengths and weaknesses of an

organization, its initiatives, or an industry. The organization needs to keep the analysis

accurate by avoiding pre- conceived beliefs or gray areas and instead focusing on real-

life context. Companies should use it as a guide and not necessarily as a prescription.

Mavil's house of Mushroom production was started During in her college days,

she decided to put a sideline about oyster mushroom. And it is a good source of income

since oyster mushroom is not very costly, and also it is a competitor free business

because seldom of people having an interest about it. Mrs. Solilap's Bussines runs up-

to 2 years.

And when they transfer here in tagum, she begun building again her oyster

mushroom Bussines in the middle of 2017. Mrs. Solilap cultured different kinds of oyster

mushroom having different colors also. But before they build up the business again,

they went to DA Department of Agriculture first to get a permission to put a business in


oyster mushroom. Mavil's oyter mishroom also cartered hands-on training for those who

got interested in growing an oyster mushroom and that is how the information

disseminate.

After a year, in year 2018 they got registered at Department of Trade and

Industry (DTI). And in the following year again, year 2019 in the month of april, Mavil's

house of mushroom registered in the BIR. Also there hoping that they will be registered

at the FDA soon if they build thier own facilities and building for oyster mushroom since

their oyster mushroom are cultured outside their house.

Mavil's oyster mushroom started on selling spawns only since their space is

limited that is her main goal. It was marketed thruogh online like facebook and also

through LBCand GRS. Mavil's oyster mushroom are selling throughout the country.

Because of her knowledge about oyster mushroom, there are few people got interested

about oyster mushroom and got a hands-on training with her. Later, Mavil's house of

mushroom decided to sell a fresh mushroom considering Php 400 per kilo SRP. It was a

quiet good enterprise since you can get a good profit from it. But because of its price, it

is very difficult for Mavil's house of mushroom to sell their products since people are

hesitate about the price and also it is very hard to market since it is not well known that

oyster mushroom can be uptaken because many of the people knew that mushrooms

are poisonous specially it has different colors, so it is very hard for them to introduce

their product.

Because of that, they come up to a new strategy again, Mavil's House of

mushroom decided to process their mushrooms in any other forms that are catchy,
affordable and having a very friendly price. They sell Crispy oyster mushroom, also

pickles, oyster mushroom crackers and chitcharon oyster mushroom, mushroom chilli

sauce. That's the time people get interested on mushrooms. Note, that these food are

healty and good for our diet since mushrooms are cultured 100% organic, and having

low content of cholesterol and sodium. According to Mrs. Solilap mushrooms are very

rich in protein that it can be substitute for meat. But some other people especially old

people are hesitate to eat mushrooms because they knew that mushrooms have a high

uric acid. But oyster mushroom are different compared to those common mushrooms

can be found in market.

The Mavil's house of mushroom is awarded as the national grand winner in PPIC last

September 13 2019.

Methodology
In conducting the SWOT Analysis, we have done focus group discussion, the

group member give some question to the enterprise manager as to get the needed

information. Given some question provided by the group as its guide in conducting the

interview to make it easy and in good flow. Aside of writing down the information given

to the interviewer we also took a voice record to the interviewee given his consent as

well as the taking pictures him and to the products. It was conducted last November 10,

2019 at CAMILLA HOME Tagum City, Davao Del Norte.


Discussion and Analysis

Based on the data we`ve gathered during interview, we identified the Mavil's

oyster mushroom Enterprise strength are selling throughout the country marketed

through online like facebook and also through LBC and JRS, and also they can produce

good quality mushrooms also she develop a new breed or species that only her having

that kind of breed all over the Philippines and now still ongoing the additional

experiment in that bread. Also she innovating new products comes from mushroom

such like mushroom crackers, pickles, chicharron, and etc. If they have a strength they

also have a weakness on their business they are limited space to produce more oyster

mushroom product and they can only produce a limited product also, limited resources,

and limited man power because of limited space of the enterprise they can`t hired more

man power.

Also, Mavi`s Oyster Mushroom Enterprise opportunities, it has big advantage for

rural and urban sites. Many markets since it is medicinal for human in recent studies

have shown that oyster mushroom also have the following medical properties such like

cholesterol lowering, antioxidant and anti-cancer. Also, can help farmers for additional

source of income. Mavil`s Oyster Mushroom Enterprise threat in their business is

contamination of the spawns. They are chances of contamination are high in the

farming of mushrooms. Ypu may be affected by fungus and bacteria if you do not

maintain the room cleanly. Since the contamination rate is high, if one mushroom bag is

contaminated, it spread to other bags too.


Summary
In the SWOT Analysis we have conducted last November 10, 2019 at CAMILLA

HOME Tagum City, Davao Del Norte in the residence of Mrs. Solilap's where his

business is established the Oyster Mushroom Production.The Mavil`s Mushroom

Enterprise owned by Mr. & Mrs. Solilap that is located at CAMELLA HOMES, Tagum

City, Davao Del Norte.
