General Notes and/or Speci cations, written on the plans or submitted on


separate standard size sheets shall show:

2. Type of wiring;
3. Service entrance
4. Feeders, sub-feeders and branch circuit wires for lighting and/or power load
5. Fire alarm system, if required by law
6. Signaling and communication
7. Special equipment to be installed, indicating ratings and classification of
service or duty cycle of;
8. Rectifiers
9. Heaters
10. X-ray apparatus
11. Electric welding equipment
12. Others
13. System or method of grounding;
14. Type and rating of main disconnecting means, overcurrent protection (OCP)
and branch circuit wiring;
15. Clearances of service drop, burial depth for service lateral, mounting height
and clearance for service equipment, mounting height and clearance for
kWh meter.

(D) Electrical Layout.

interconnection wiring.

(1) Plan for Power. Layout and wiring plans for power on the oor plans
drawn to scale, shall show:

1. Sizes and location of service entrance conductors, raceways, metering


equipment, main switchboard, layout of feeders and distribution panels or
switches and their sizes, types and ratings;
2. Complete circuits of motors and other electrical equipment, their controlling
devices, their locations and ratings;
3. Complete wiring of emergency power system, if any;
4. Nature of processes/activities carried out in each room or area

FPN: In residences, apartment houses and small commercial


establishments, layout of equipment and motors of one horsepower or
less may be incorporated in the layout for General Lighting and
Receptacle Outlets. In general, layout of motors and power outlets not
exceeding a total often, may be included in the lighting layout provided
such inclusion will not make reading, interpretation and/or checking of
said plan di cult.

(2) Plan for Lighting and Receptacle Outlets. Layout and wiring plans for
general lighting and receptacle outlets on oor plans drawn to scale, shall
show:

1. Location, type and rating of lighting fixtures, indicating illumination in lux in


each room or area. In residences, hotels, apartment houses, and churches,
the illumination level in each room or area need not be shown nor
computed;
2. Location of switches for each fixtures or group of fixtures;
3. Location of receptacle outlets and appliances to be served and their
ratings;           
4. Complete circuits of the lighting and receptacle outlets;
5. Complete wiring of emergency lighting system, if any;
6. A separate drawing showing layout of receptacle outlets may be made at
the discretion of the design engineer.

(3)  Plan for Fire Alarm Circuits. Layout and wiring plans of re alarm
station, re alarm bell, re alarm control panel, and other shall be drawn
to scale and show:

1. Location of outlets, equipment and/or apparatus and controls;


2. Complete circuit showing no. and size of raceway and wire;

E) Schedule of Loads. Schedule of load in tabulated form


shall indicate:

(1) Motor Loads;

1. Motors as numbered or identified in power layout


2. Type of motor
3. Horsepower/kilowatt/kilovolt ampere rating
4. Voltage rating
5. Full-load current rating
6. Frequency rating other than 60 hertz
7. Number of phases
8. Type and size of wiring
9. Protective device rating

(2) Lighting and Receptacle Loads;


1. Panel as numbered in the feeder diagram
2. Circuit designation number
3. Number of lighting outlets in each circuit
4. Number of switches in each circuit
5. Number of receptacles outlets (convenience outlets)
6. Voltage of circuit
7. Type and size of wiring
8. Protective device rating

(3) Other Loads.

1. Designation number on plan


2. Description of load
3. Classification of service duty, if required
4. Rating of kilovolt-ampere or kilowatt
5. Phase loading indicating full load line current
6. Voltage rating
7. Type and size of wiring
8. Protective device rating

(F) Design Analysis.

Design analysis shall be included on the drawings or shall be submitted


on separate sheets of standard size, and shall show:

1. Branch circuits, sub-feeders, feeders, busways, and service entrance;


2. Types, ratings, and trip settings of overload protective devices;
3. Calculation of voltage drops.
4. Calculation of short circuit current for determining the interrupting capacity
of overcurrent protective device for residential, commercial, and industrial
establishment;
5. Protection coordination of overcurrent protective devices;
6. Arc-Flash Hazard Analysis to determine the required personal protective
equipment (PPE) i other than dwelling place – (see Appendix H for PPE)

FPN No. 1: This analysis is not required for dwelling units but required for
service equipment and other electrical equipment n part of the individual
dwelling units of residential condominium and individual detached
dwelling units.

FPN No. 2: Arc- ash hazard analysis required is intended or concerned


parties to be informed and made aware of the importance of personal
protective equipment (PPE) and its Or the ash hazard risk category
determined by the analysis: further overcurrent protective devices
coordination coupled With lash hazard analysis can reduce the severity of
PPE needed but is not required under this arc- ash hazard analysis.

FPN No. 3: IEEE std 1584-2002, Guide for Performing Flash Hazard
Calculations provides guidelines for arc- ash hazard analysis.

 (G) One Line Diagram. One-line diagram shall indicate:

(1) Lighting and Receptacle Outlet Loads;


1. Single line or schematics diagram of lighting and receptacles panelboards
showing mains and branch circuit rating;
2. Size of conductors for feeders.

(2) Motor Loads;

1. Rating in kilowatts/horsepower/kilovolt ampere


2. Full load current
3. Locked rotor current
4. Phase connection for I-phase motor on a 3-phase system
5. Rated voltage
6. Type and size of wiring, indicating load in amperes
7. Electric motors shall be numbered consecutively to correspond to their
numbers in the layout

(3) Feeders and Sub feeders;

1. Identification and/or labeling of feeders and sub feeders


2. Size and type of wires and raceway
3. Protective devices and controls
4. The allowable ampacity of the conductor over the designed load current in
amperes expressed as a ratio and indicated alongside the conductor

(4) Load Center.

1. Identification and/or labeling of load center showing type and rating of


transformer, switches, circuit breaker and other related devices
2. Incoming and outgoing feeders, type, size and voltage
3. Equipment grounding

1.3.2.2 Title Block.

Title block or nameplate of plans and drawing shall be a standard strip of


40 mm high at the bottom of the sheet.

It shall contain the following:

1. Name and location of installation or project;


2. Name, signature and address of owner/manager/ operator;
3. Title of sheet;
4. Name, signature and seal of Professional Electrical Engineer together with
Professional Regulation Commission professional license number and
validity, Professional Tax Receipt Number, and Tax Identification Number;
5. Scale used, date drawn; and
6. Sheet number.

1.3.2.3 Other Details.

(A) Exposed conductors shall show:

Means of support and types of insulators; and


Spacings and clearances.
(B) Auxiliary gutters, wireways, busways, cabinets, boxes, metallic
raceways, underground installations, other than speci ed in the Code
shall show:

Installation details;
Conductor supports, separators, and attachments where required by this
Code; and
Dimensions and description or specifications.

(C) Private pole installations shall show:

Construction and installation details and dimensions;


Pole top wiring details including line hardware; and
Guying details.

(D) Low energy power and low voltage power installation shall show:   

Details of battery installation and/or other source of low voltage or low


energy power;
Equipment, wiring, actuating mechanism and protective devices; and
Ventilation details whenever necessary.

1.3.3 Substation Plans and Specifications

1.3.3.1 Indoor Substation.

Indoor substation plans shall show:


(A) Location and dimensions of;

Substation in building plan drawn to scale,


Building with respect to entire compound or property,
Incoming and outgoing lines, and
Windows, doors, and other openings.

(B)  Substation structural requirements;

Materials and construction of walls, floors, roof, windows, enclosures,


doors, and their dimensions, and
Ventilation and drainage systems and other safeguards.

(C)  Substation electrical requirements such as;

Plan view showing location and sizes of equipment installed,


Clearances and spacings between exposed current-carrying and
noncurrent-carrying   portions and grounding equipment, and
Grounding system.

(D) Cross sectional views showing;

Horizontal and vertical clearances between exposed parts and adjacent


surfaces,
Horizontal and vertical clearances of exposed parts from floor/ceiling,
Finished floor level and ground level.
(E)  Miscellaneous;

Specification of equipment,
Wiring of lighting and remote-control systems,
One-line diagram(s) of entire installation with voltage indicated,
Computations on size of wires, busbar, transformer, fuses, switches and
breaker, and
Class of insulation or insulators.

1.3.3.2 Outdoor Substation.

Outdoor substation plans shall show same items as indoor substation


except that in lieu of walls and roof, details of fence and supporting steel
structure shall be shown in accordance with the latest edition of the
Philippine Electrical Code, Part 2.
