Chapter 3

METHODOLOGY

Objectives

This study focuses to identify the difference between the traditional ways of courtship

to modern ways of courtship of the Grade 11 students in Tayug National High School and to

determine the importance of courtship.

Time Frame

This study was undertaken from the August 2018. It was conducted on the first semester

of school year 2018-2019.

Target Participants

The respondents of the study are women of Grade 11 students of school year 2018-

2019 of Tayug National High School. The research subject is made up of 250 women students.

Activities to be taken

In every part of the research, planning is very important to achieve the goals of the

study. The following tables have been formulated by the researchers to obtain the desired

answers for the research questions presented on the next page.

Research Design

This Study focuses on the views of women towards traditional and modern courtship of

Grade 11 students in Tayug National High School.

Certain questions will be design to draw out responses of specific information

regarding the importance of traditional courtship despite of living in 21st century.

A 4 – Degree – liker type of questionnaire was employed by the researcher. This serve

as a tool to determine the difference of traditional and modern courtship.

To determine the views toward traditional and modern courtship, the following scale

was used:

4- Always

3- Most of the time

2- Sometimes

1- Never

Researcher used to average weighted mean using this formula.
