I think most Jazz guitarists just play whatever amp is provided by the venue. In case of the Acoustic Image users or players who just go direct
( John McGlaughlin) those are the rarity.

LOL...I built a Dumble type clone, Brown Note, a few years ago. Sounds good and is very versatile but I wouldn't insult the pros and say I'm
anywhere near a "Jazz Guitarist".

Fender Princeton and Champ are heard by notable players.

I am a proponent of the Fender SuperSonic 22 as its vintage channel comes close to the Deluxe Reverb and the burn channel can be dialed
in for nice Wes Montgomery style grit.

Meanwhile, back at the Kobayashi Maru...

I did see Scofield last month on his new tour and he was not playing an AC30. He was playing through either a Deluxe or Twin Reverb...I
couldn't quite tell from where I was sitting...but it was definitely Fender. It was probably the standard backline for the SF Jazz Center. But, he
sounded as he always does...like John Scofield.

In fact many people play the amp of the day, that is, the one that is available on the spot.
Others receive free of charge from the factory and some ask a particular brand or model, like Jim Hall , that requested Polytone mini brute
when playing outside United States.
Joe Pass, a few years before he died, used the sound system of the place. If there was a good sound system he had a good sound, if the
place had a bad sound system he had a bad sound.

Wayne krantz - Marshall Jubilee

I couldn't make out which model it was, but when I saw Abercombie in the late 90s he played some marshall combo. Could have been an
900.

And personally I think there are lovely clean jazz sounds in the classic Marshall designs
