About this guide This guide describes the software requirements for installing the Balancing tool. Purpose This tool is used to balance and calibrate the CP-VAV and CPO-VAV2A controllers. Software prerequisites The Balancing tool can run on Windows 7 Enterprise edition (32-bit or 64-bit) SP1. The following software are additionally required for installing the Balancing tool and are supplied on the installation media: Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 MSXML 6.0 SP2 Note: All prerequisite software is automatically installed during the tool installation. Installing the Balancing tool The following table informs you when a restart is required while installing prerequisite software required for the Balancing tool. To install the Balancing tool 1 Double-click the <drive>:\Disk1\setup.exe from the installation media (CD/DVD/Network location). The Install Shield Wizard window appears indicating the list of prerequisite software to be installed. 2 Click Install. The Windows Installer 4.5 - XP SP2 installation begins as indicated by the progress bar. The prerequisite software are installed. INSTALLING THE BALANCING TOOL EN1B-0041 IE10 R0413 2 3 Click Next. 4 Select the option (as highlighted in the above figure) and click Next. 5 Enter your User name and Company Name details. The Next button is enabled. 6 Click Next. 7 Click Next. 8 Click Install to initiate the installation. 9 Click Finish to complete the installation. You can start the tool by either double-clicking the Balancing tool icon from the desktop or go to Start > All Programs > Honeywell > ComfortPoint Open Balance. To remove Balancing tool from Control Panel 1 Go to Start > ControlPanel > Uninstall a Program. 2 Select ComfortPoint Open and click Uninstall. The Balancing tool is removed. To remove Balancing tool from installer 1 Double-click the <drive>:\Disk1\setup.exe from the installation media (CD/DVD/Network location). 2 Select the Remove option and click Next. 3 Click Yes to continue the uninstallation. 4 Click Finish. Troubleshooting tips This section provides some of the troubleshooting tips. 1. Facing issues while starting the Balancing tool. Check if the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 is installed on your machine. Install the tool again and launch the tool. 2. Facing communication issues with multiple tools (ComfortPoint Open Balancing tool and ComfortPoint Open Online tool) open. Use the Pause/Resume button to ensure only one tool is connected at a time. Note: The ComfortPoint Open Online tool and ComfortPoint Open Balancing tool can coexist on the same machine and you can work simultaneously on both the tools.
