Overview
TheST5484Eisaselfcontainedseismicvelocity transmitterthatincorporatesapiezoelectric accelerometer,signalintegrator,RMSpeak detector,and420mAsignalconditionerintoa singlepackagethatcanbemounteddirectlyon themachinecaseorbearinghousingwithout needofanyinterveningsignalconditioning equipment.Theamplitudeoftheintegrated acceleration(velocity)signalisconvertedtoa proportional420mAsignalthatiscompatible withmostindustrialprocesscontrol instrumentationsuchasPLCs,DCSs,andSCADA systemsthatcanprovidetrendingand/or alarmingcapabilitiesforasimplifiedvibration monitoringstrategy. Whentheflyingleadorterminalblock connectoroptionsarechosen,thetransmitteris designedforusewithoutneedofaseparate environmentalhousingandcandirectlyaccept conduit.Itcanbeusedwithbarriersfor intrinsicallysafeinstallations,orwireddirectly toexplosionproofconduitfittingsforexplosion proofinstallations,reducingtotalinstalledcosts.
