A Winning Formula

One of the world's top racing teams at the home of British motorsport… and it's not a race weekend – all thanks to Pirelli's exclusive track day event, P ZERO Experience

The worlds of Pirelli and Red Bull Racing crossover in motorsport, specifically Formula 1, as Pirelli is currently the official sole tyre supplier for the sport.

Today, the Red Bull Racing team in Formula 1 currently features Dutch driver Max Verstappen and Mexican team mate Sergio Pérez, both extremely exciting talents in the sport. But in previous years, racing legend David Coulthard took the reins at Red Bull during the years 2005 to 2008.

Former racing driver now turned presenter and journalist, Coulthard is often referred to as ‘DC' and remains a firm favourite amongst fans. With this in mind, where better to reunite a top performing Formula 1 team and a former driver than the home of British Motorsport? So Pirelli did just that.

With motorsport embedded deep in Pirelli's heritage it seems only right that one of the year's most highly-anticipated events showcases this. The United Kingdom's inaugural P ZERO Experience headed to Silverstone to share two adrenaline-filled days with track day and motorsport fans. But no Pirelli event would be complete without an array of supercars, with some of the best and latest models from top car manufacturers such as McLaren, Pagani, Dallara, Lamborghini and Ferrari all in attendance to offer guests the most thrilling, high-speed track action!

The Red Bull Racing team, with the championship-winning RB7 in tow, quickly made themselves at home in the iconic Heritage Pits amongst the remarkable collection of supercars. As a surprise for guests and exclusive to the United Kingdom's P ZERO Experience, Red Bull Racing did not simply bring the RB7 for show – they wanted to reignite the performance levels that secured Sebastian Vettel the 2011 World Drivers' Championship.

Proving he still has ‘it' and putting the P ZERO tyres to the test, DC donned his Red Bull racing suit and helmet to put on a thrilling show run for the guests in his former team's car. It was thanks to this spectacular performance that participants got to truly see for themselves that power is nothing without control as DC ran rings around the track in the RB7 – quite literally, performing donuts outside the British Racing Driver's Clubhouse for guests to enjoy.

The combination of Pirelli's P ZERO Experience, together with Red Bull Racing, was the perfect addition to an entirely unique track day from Pirelli and certainly a memorable experience for all.

With a current F1 racing team working away in the pit lane on their iconic championship-winning car and a true racing legend on hand for advice and tips on how to tackle the tricky corners and handle the speed at Silverstone, supercar and track day enthusiasts relished not only in the glorious weather and stunning selection of vehicles but also the added bonus of Formula 1 stars reunited with the Silverstone asphalt.
