Strictly Come Dancing returned on Saturday for Halloween week, and as usual, the latest star to be evicted leaked ahead of Sunday's show - although fans' response was markedly different this time around.
From a Time Warp jive to an Addams Family-themed American Smooth, everything was on the menu for the fan favourite week. But before the weekend rolled around, Strictly fans were left disappointed thanks to a big change to the show's usual Halloween festivities. What's more, Chris McCausland, favourite to win the show, admitted he feared he will get the boot tomorrow night thanks to a new curse.
Last week saw the departure of Paul Merson and Karen Hauer after they danced against JB Gill and Amy Dowden in the dreaded Strictly dance-off. But ultimately, their Samba to Rose Royce's car wash wasn't enough to save them after initially scoring just 19 following their initial dance.
Fans have also figured out who could replace Graziano Di Prima who was dropped from the show following allegations about his behaviour towards reality star, Zara McDermott. It comes after a string of former Strictly stars are planning to honour the late Robin Windsor who appeared on the hit BBC show between 2010 and 2013.
Robin tragically died earlier this year, aged just 44. All profits from the show, named Robin Windsor: The Final Act, will go to mental health charity Sane, which Windsor worked with as an ambassador. Elsewhere, Craig Revel Horwood has revealed to the Mirror he has no plans to slow down any time soon and will remain on the panel, offering his brutal opinions until he's "cancelled."
It was also said contestant Wynne Evans landed in hot water after making a cheeky joke while getting ready for the show. It comes after an awkward clip of him and Katya Jones went viral, resulting in the two having to shut down any claims of bad blood between the two.
Strictly's JB Gill addresses future on show as fans blown away by Amy Dowden 'replacement'
Strictly Come Dancing fans have aired their concern for Amy Dowden after the pro was forced to miss the results show due to "unforeseen circumstances".
Her absence comes after Amy fell poorly following her Halloween performance with JB Gill on Saturday night. A representative for Amy stated: "Amy was feeling unwell, so an ambulance was called as a precaution.
"She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy's privacy in matters of health is kindly respected."
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed in a statement: "We were called just after 9pm on Saturday to attend a medical emergency at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood.
"An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and one patient, an adult female, was taken to Barnet Hospital for further care."
As the show went on without Amy, fans took to social media to air their concerns and wish the dancer well. Many also praised dancer Lauren Oakley for stepping in to replace Amy in the professional dancer's Halloween performance. along with Carlos Gu.
One fan said: "Hoping Amy Dowden is doing ok & wishing her well #StrictlyComeDancing #strictly."
Another echoed: "I hope Amy is ok. Given her recent recovery I can’t help but worry for her. Sending love and hope she’ll be back soon. #Strictly."
A third pointed out: "Hang on, Lauren only had 20 minutes to learn that, as an Amy replacement?? Wow, you would not have known #Strictly."
Someone else agreed: "Shoutout to the amazing Lauren, who learned this routine in 20 mins because she stepped in to replace Amy!! #Strictly."
Strictly Come Dancing fans fume star was 'robbed' as they slam judges' decision
Strictly Come Dancing viewers were all left saying the same thing on Sunday night as two celebrities found themselves having to perform their routines again to try and stay in the competition.
Dr Punam Krishan and her professional partner Gorka Márquez took to the dancefloor once again to perform their Tango. While Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu showcased their Paso Doble for a second time.
Although this was Dr Punam's first time in the dance-off, and Shayne had been in this position before, the three judges opted to keep the former X Factor star.
Head judge Shirley Ballas also shared that if it had been her decision, she'd have chosen Shayne to remain in the show.
However, it wasn't long before fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the elimination, as they were all left saying the same thing.
One person said: "Punam was absolutely robbed. At least she danced. Gorka should have her faffing about on the spot #SCD #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly." Another added: "Punam was absolutely robbed on #strictly shane did f**k all the whole dance."
"I thought Punam should have stayed. I felt that she improved on ‘yesterdays’ dance," wrote one viewer. Someone else fumed: "Absolutely the wrong decision." Another commented: " I'm really going to miss Punam and Gorka. She should be so proud of herself."
Strictly's Gorka gushes over Dr Punam as she's voted off BBC show
Dr Punam's dance partner Gorka said: "I'm very proud of what she has achieved. [...] She had never danced before and I think she improved week by week. I think she is truly what the show is about, someone who doesn't have experience in the performance world came here and learnt to dance."
Further sharing his thoughts, he said: "She wanted to do so well and worked so hard. Also I feel very proud and very honoured that we got to do a Bollywood dance, to represent your culture, show your culture to the world and open doors for so many people in your culture."
Punam then added in a message to Gorka and assured that her departure from Strictly won't be the end of her "journey dancing." She said: "Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for giving me the gift of dancing. I've never danced before, but you've definitely sparked so much dancing. I want to learn more, and I definitely don't think this will be the end of my journey dancing."
Devastated Strictly Come Dancing star Punam Krishan makes vow as she's axed from show
The latest dance-off on Strictly Come Dancing led to Dr Punam Krishan being voted out of the competition, though she's made a promise following the experience.
Following the dance-off performances, judges Craig Revel Horwood, 59, Motsi Mabuse, 43, and Anton Du Beke, 58, each chose to save Shayne and Nancy - with the majority decision resulting in Punam and Gorka's departure. Head judge Shirley Ballas, 64, agreed with the decision, saying that she would voted to save Shayne and Nancy too.
It marked the first time that Punam and Gorka had been in the dance-off, whilst Shayne and Nancy had previously been saved by the judges two weeks ago. That dance-off saw Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk voted off Strictly.
Discussing her time on Strictly after the vote, Punam said: "I am really proud of myself. You know I've taken on something that's so out of my comfort zone. The one thing that I've very much learnt is to say yes more, and that there is no point in your life when you can stop learning new skills."
"I've learnt more than dancing, I've learnt so much from Gorka. Everyone's been so incredible and it's just memories that I'll take home forever and I am very proud. I've made my family very proud, I'm just really grateful," she added.
She also commented on the show: "I think to have one of your dreams genuinely come true is just a surreal feeling. Week after week it's been incredible, I've made friends for life and everyone's just been so kind, so thank you."
Strictly Come Dancing judges decide to save Shayne Ward as Dr Punam Krishan leaves show
Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke all chose to save former Coronation Street actor Shayne Ward, meaning that Dr Punam is the latest celebrity to be given the boot.
Dr Punam goes first in dance-off against Shayne Ward
Dr Punam Krishan and Gorka Márquezdanced their tango to 80s electro-pop banger Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) by Eurythmics.
Meanwhile, Shayne and Nancy went next as they reprised their paso doble to In The Hall of The Mountain King by Edvard Grieg.
Strictly's JB Gill breaks silence on absent Amy Dowden after she 'collapsed' backstage
Contestant JB Gill spoken about his absent dance partner Amy Dowden on Strictly Come Dancing following the news that she collapsed backstage this weekend.
JB and Amy returned to the dancefloor together on Saturday night as part of Halloween week on the BBC show. The pair were awarded a score of 32 by the judges for their foxtrot to Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader.
Just minutes after their performance though, professional dancer Amy is understood to have fallen ill. It was confirmed that an ambulance was called as a "precaution" and it's since been shared that she's "feeling much better".
Her dance partner JB - best known for having been a member of the group JLS - spoke about Amy, who was absent from the result's show, after it was revealed that they had avoided this week's dance off. Asked by host Claudia Winkleman how happy, on behalf of them both, he was feeling about not being in the bottom two, JB said: "Honestly, I'm beside myself and Amy of course is gonna be so happy that we're through to icons week. It's an amazing feeling." JB went on to reveal that he'll be performing a medley next week as a couple's choice, including Bruno Mars' song Treasure.
It was announced on Sunday morning, ahead of this week's results show airing, that Amy had been feeling "unwell" and received medical attention on Saturday. A spokesperson for her shared: "Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy's privacy in matters of health is kindly respected."
Strictly fans say the same thing about Carlos Gu in Halloween routine
BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans were blown away by Carlos Gu in the professional dancer's routine on Sunday night.
Sunday’s results show featured a spooktastic routine from the fabulous professional dancers in a Beetlejuice-inspired routine led by Carlos.
The professional dancer donned his best Beetlejuice impression as he wore a black and white striped suit, green hair, and full Halloween makeup to match.
Fans rushed to social media to share their thoughts on Carlos and the routine, with one tweeting: "Carlos has won Hallowe’en #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."
"Loved that routine brilliantly led by Carlos!! #Strictly," another agreed while a third added: "Nothing to see here. Just Carlos showing us why he should’ve been partnered up this year."
Someone else said: "Carlos did a star turn as Beetlejuice. Amazing! #Strictly."
"Carlos slayed #strictly," one simply penned, while another stated: "Carlos has stole the show this weekend #strictly." (sic)
Punam Krishan to face dreaded dance-off for the first time
Dr Punam is sadly facing the dreaded dance-off against Shayne Ward.
While Shayne landed in the bottom two less than two weeks ago, it will be Punam's first time to prove why she deserves to stay on the show.
Why is Amy Dowden missing from Strictly Come Dancing results show?
Strictly Come Dancing fans have noticed Amy Dowden did not appear on Sunday night's results show - as she collapsed backstage on the show.
The 33-year-old Welsh actress missed out on the 2023 season of Strictly as she battled cancer - but made a triumphant return for the 2024 season after beating back the disease. She has been paired with JLS star JB Gill and on Saturday night they secured 32 points from the judges after performing a lively Foxtrot.
However, Amy fell ill soon after the live show was filmed and had to be rushed to hospital. She was then absent from the results show as a result - as this is filmed on Saturday night immediately after the live show.
A representative for Amy told The Mirror: "Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy's privacy in matters of health is kindly respected."

Tess said: "Before we get started, we're sad to say that Amy won't be able to join us."
Strictly Come Dancing chaos as sick Amy Dowden misses results show
Strictly Come Dancing bosses faced show chaos after Amy Dowden collapsed backstage and was rushed to hospital - meaning she missed tonight's results show.
Shortly after Saturday night's main show was recorded they made an emergency 999 call when Amy, 34, needed urgent medical treatment. Viewers tonight will notice she was not in the results show, causing panic backstage as crew worried for her health and also realised she would not be able to take part in any potential dance off.
A BBC spokesman said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Amy Dowden MBE was unable to be in tonight’s results show." A source went on to insist that Amy's wellbeing was "number one priority" along with the other contestants. But referring to the competition the source added: "The outcome of the results show has not been compromised by this unforeseen matter and the show has protocols in place for circumstances such as these."
As Mirror online reported earlier today, an ambulance was needed to take Amy to hospital. A spokesman for Amy said: "Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy's privacy in matters of health is kindly respected."

Strictly's Nikita Kuzmin in 'daily battle' after being diagnosed with condition at 13
Professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin has been seen sporting a white patch on his arm on Strictly Come Dancing which helps him monitor a serious health condition.
Nikita has previously shared that he was diagnosed Type 1 diabetes at the age of 13. He's since become a fan-favourite on the BBC show and is currently impressing viewers whilst paired up with Olympian Sam Quek.
The 26-year-old, who joined Strictly in 2021, doesn't shy away from using his platform to raise awareness about his condition. He's shared that he faces daily challenges due to diabetes and once revealed that he was rushed to hospital as a teenager by his parents after he fell seriously ill one night, as reported by Birmingham Live.
Nikita, who is often seen wearing continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor, which monitors his glucose levels, recounted the experience to the Sun earlier this year. He said: "It was quite traumatic because I was diagnosed in the middle of the night." Nikita shared that it happened at around 2am and he had "extremely" high blood sugar levels.
He continued: "They were spiking, and I had been feeling very ill for about a week." Nikita went on to express his gratitude towards both of his parents for their response, saying that they had suspected it "might be diabetes".

JB Gill makes unbelievable claim about Liam Payne
JB Gill has revealed that the late Liam Payne once expressed an interest in becoming part of JLS.
JB, 37, first met the One Direction star in 2008 when they were auditioning for the X Factor. Liam was auditioning as a solo artist at the time, but was knocked out of the ITV competition at the bootcamp stage. During a Strictly press event, he admitted to the Daily Mail: "He wanted to be in JLS, to be honest. But when he got knocked out at boot camp, we said 'just keep going, keep working hard, you'll get your chance'. I'm obviously glad that he was able to do that."
JB Gill wants to pay tribute to Liam Payne on the BBC show
JB Gill has revealed that he wants to dance to one of Liam Payne's songs as a tribute to the star, who died earlier this month.
The JLS singer, 37, who first met Liam in 2008 after they auditioned for the X Factor, said during a Strictly Come Dancing press event that it would be an "incredible tribute." Liam fell to his death earlier this month from the third floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He suffered severe injuries, which resulted in his devastating death.
JB, who is partnered with professional dancer Amy Dowden, said: "If there’s an opportunity, I’d love to do it [dance to one of his songs]. It'd be an incredible tribute. He was a very good friend, we literally met him when he was starting his journey out. It was before he had the success of One Direction, because he was just a solo artist in the same year that we were in the X factor and got onto the live shows. I just remember him following the boys and I around."
Amy Dowden collapses backstage at Strictly as ambulance called in awful scenes
Strictly Come Dancing bosses were forced to make an emergency 999 call after Amy Dowden fell ill backstage. Just minutes after her performance on the ballroom with JLS star JB Gill on Saturday night she is understood to have fallen ill.
A spokesman for Amy said: "Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy's privacy in matters of health is kindly respected."
Chris McCausland explains why comedy pals could be laughing all the way to the bank
Strictly star Chris McCausland says he is thrilled to have the backing of a host of comedians - including Lee Mack who thinks he is laughing all the way to the bank.
Chris, 47, is now odds-on favourite to lift the Glitterball and Would I Lie To You funnyman Lee was convinced he would do well. He backed Chris to win at the start at big odds.
Asked about his growing number of supporters, Chris said: "Lee Mack sent me a message saying, ‘I'm f***ing glad I bet on you weeks ago!’. The odds were better than they are now. He bet on me before the series even started. He sent me a message after our first dance saying he was so glad he put on a bet on me before anyone else had seen me dance! So he’s quids in if we do win!
"But I've had some lovely messages from loads of comedians and all that. And it's nice because there's not a lot of comedians who do this, so you are kind of representing, you know, the circuit as well. I've got 20 years on the circuit and it's a really good environment and a really good place to develop as a comedian. And there's so many great people out there and they're really supportive, so it's nice to be able to represent them as well, you know."
Chris also admitted as a comic used to playing late night gigs he has had to stay focused in the interview sections too.
He said with a grin: "I'm very good at policing myself for daytime, you know, and this show is daytime, really, isn't it? It's much harder when you do something like The Last Leg, which is live and it's 10:00 p.m. You've kind of got to be edgy and inappropriate, but not ruin your career. That's a harder line to walk than just being family friendly, which I'm a good judge of. But I tell you what, though, some things I just don't tell them I'm gonna say because I know they'll tell me not to because I know they will worry. So I didn't tell them I was gonna talk about Dianne kicking me in the head because I knew they go, ‘oh, please don't say that’. But I knew it would be funny."
Amy Dowden's poignant motivation behind her fight to stay on the show
Pro dancer Amy Dowden says she was determined to win last week’s dance-off – because it is only being on Strictly that has made her feel herself again after her cancer fightback.
Amy, 34, whose celebrity partner is JLS singer JB Gill, had to take a year off from the show after being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer last May. She was given the all-clear in February. She said: “I never truly felt really like me since my cancer journey, until I was back on Strictly and working with my lovely JB. That’s what I found hardest going into the dance-off – I’m not ready to have this taken away from me. I had it completely taken away from me last year and I’m loving being back. I don’t want it to stop. I’m not ready to finish my journey because I’m loving every second. I knew JB could get through the dance and could absolutely ace it.”
The pair’s jive to Hey Ya! by Outkast landed them in the bottom two, along with ex-England footballer Paul Merson and his partner Karen Hauer, but they were saved by the judges. And Amy says she receives touching messages every week from people inspired by her recovery. She said: “Honestly, it’s the most wonderful thing. I get so many messages about my smile. I do always look back and think, ‘Gosh, this time last year I was having chemo, this time last year I was in hospital with a blood clot’. What a difference a year can make. I get messages every day from people saying, ‘I’m going through chemo and you’re my hope’, or, ‘Because of you I’ve checked myself and I found a lump’, or some-thing like this. I’m just grateful to be back and be in the position I am.”
Last night, on Strictly’s Halloween special, JB and Amy performed a foxtrot to Toploader’s Dancing in the Moonlight dressed as scarecrows. But dad-of-two JB, 36, insists the judges don’t scare him. “All the judges have opinions,” he began. “I’m a novice in a world where they are experts. I obviously want to please them but I’m not scared of their comments. Their comments are great. I want to critique because I am a novice.”
Results leak yet again but this time fans have jaw-dropping response
Strictly Come Dancing viewers have been left stunned by the latest dance off result - which has, like clockwork, leaked early, only this time - in a jaw-dropping turn of events - some fans were happy with the choice.
For years now, a persistent mole has leaked the result of the dance off hours before it has aired after witnessing the result during real time as the Sunday night show records immediately after the Saturday night live show airs. As regular as a traffic warden stepping outside to ruin lives at the beginning of their working week, the mole has ruined the result show for fans once again.
The spoil sport has shared the result via a website and social media, and fans have been left stunned by the couples that were told they had to dance for their glitterball lives. And what's more, they are stunned by the outcome.
While the Mirror has chosen not to share the result to avoid ruining the result for the most devout Strictly fans, the fan reaction this week wasn't one of total devastation, with one person writing on X, formerly Twitter: "Just seen the Strictly spoiler. Thank gosh. Was really worried!" Another person echoed: "The strictly spoiler has me going to bed happy!! Right person left in my opinion."
Craig's awkward response to Pete jibe
A joke on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night fell a little bit flat, as not everyone was amused when Pete Wicks mocked his dancefloor drama from the week before.
The TOWIE star embraced Halloween week with his pro dance partner Jowita Przystał on Saturday, a week on from being accused of an "illegal" dance move. Pete has since addressed this after judge Craig Revel Horwood said his and Jowita's Rumba contained moves that would leave a professional dancer "disqualified".
While he made a light-hearted quip about being "arrested" for his "illegal" moves the week before, things got awkward when Craig didn't look all that impressed. He wasn't the only one though as the camera panned to all of the judges, and none of them laughed or so much as smirked.
Week six scores in full!
Jamie Borthwick & Michelle Tsaikkas scored 38 from the judges (9, 10, 10, 9). They performed the American Smooth.
Sarah Hadland & Vito Coppola scored 38 from the judges (9, 10, 9, 10). They performed the Argentine Tango.
Tasha Ghouri & Aljaz Skorjanec scored 37 from the judges (9, 9, 9, 10). They performed the Samba.
Montell Douglas & Johannes Radebe scored 35 from the judges (9, 9, 9, 8). They performed the Cha-Cha-Cha.
JB Gill & Amy Dowden scored 32 from the judges (7, 9, 8, 8). They performed the Foxtrot.
Pete Wicks & Jowita Przystal scored 31 from the judges (7, 8, 8, 8). They performed the Viennese Waltz.
Sam Quek & Nikita Kuzmin scored 31 from the judges (7, 8, 8, 8). They performed the Jive.
Shayne Ward & Nancy Xu scored 31 from the judges (8, 8, 7, 8). They performed the Paso Doble.
Wynne Evans & Katya Jones scored 31 from the judges (7, 8, 8, 8). They performed the Salsa.
Chris McCausland & Dianne Buswell scored 26 from the judges (5, 7, 7, 7). They performed the Samba.
Punam Krishan & Gorka Marquez scored 26 from the judges (6, 7, 6, 7). They performed the Tango.
Rocky Hor-phwoar Picture Show
Strictly fans were left swooning over Nikita Kuzmin as he donned fishnets and underwear for his spooky performance. Channelling his inner Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the dance professional threw himself into the Halloween spirit for his Jive performance with star contestant Sam Quek.
Fans flooded X with positivev feedback over the dancer's provocative appearance. One viewer gushed online: “I’m sorry, but seeing Nikita in black suspenders is, well, rather special #Strictly #RockyHorror.”
Frock horror
Aljaž Škorjanec distracted viewers when he suffered something of a wardrobe malfunction. The pro dancer and celeb partner Tasha Ghoruri danced a samba to the song I Like to Move It by Reel 2 Real.
The pair's theme was Frankenstein, as Aljaž's face was painted green, teamed with a huge quiff hairstyle, and bolts stuck to each side of his neck to mimic the fictional monster. However, one of Aljaž's bolts dropped off his neck seconds into their routine - drawing attention from fans who deemed the mishap "hilarious" on X.
Ghostly own-goal
Viewers were disappointed that the Stirctly Come Dancing judges missed a trick, or prop-shaped treat, while dishing out their scores on Saturday night. The panel of experts flashed up their familiar round paddles to show their marks - but viewers felt they should have used ghost-shaped versions.
Taking to X to whinge about the missed opportunity, one fan wrote: "Where are the ghost paddles that the judges use in Halloween week #Strictly." The judges have traditionally used such novelty shaped paddles during the Halloween special in the past.
Soapy support
Viewers were thrilled to see a familiar face in the Strictly audience during Halloween week - soap star Lisa Riley. The 48-year-old actress is famliar to millions thanks to her role on Emmerdale as Mandy Dingle - a part she has played on the ITV soap since 1995.
Taking to X to comment on the soap star's appearance, one fan penned: "Lisa Riley is in the #Strictly audience." Another remarked: "Yes, it is; I love her." While a third added: "Do you mean Lisa Riley (blue tick)."
Scoring backlash
Strictly fans have been disappointed by some of the scores dished out by the judging panel during Haloween week. Wynne and Katya performed a Salsa to the song Canned Heat by Jamiroquai and earned themselves a score of 31, putting them on par with Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał. JB and Amy - who were in the dance off last weekend - took to the dancefloor for a Foxtrot to Dancing in The Moonlight and earned a high score of 32.
Fans took to X to slam the scoring decisions. One person wrote: "Wynne well overmarked IMHO It was more 25 or 26 and definitely not a 31. Judges have the people they like and they pick up an extra point per judge. Seems unfair to me but it's not a dance show anymore." Another added: "Wynne getting overmarked again."
Concerns for Wynne and Katya
Some Strictly fans think scandal-hit Wynne and Katya are being erased from the show. The couple - standing out during Haloween week thanks to their horny devil costumes - chatted with Claudia after their salsa performance but then seemed to disappear from the stuido, prompting concerns they were removed from the set.
One fan on X asked: "Is Wynne not allowed to be with Claudia and the other contestants at the top of the stairs? Have not seen him there all show." And another typed: "Are they deliberately keeping Wynne & Katya away from the cameras?"
And the lines our open
And the voting lines are now open! You have around 30 minutes to vote to save your favourites, as the lines close at 8.40pm.
The dance-off will be filmed this evening and the judges will decide who is the next to leave the competition but fans will only find out who survived during tomorrow night’s pre-recorded Results Show (unless they peek on Twitter for the #StrictlySpoiler)
Last but not least...
Sam and Nikita closed the show with their Jive to Time Warp by The Rocky Horror Picture Show Cast. Motsi dubbed it “the cherry on top of a great night” but Shirley felt things got a little “wonky” at times.
The pair were awarded 31 points. Not too scary.
