Thanks to his style of play, Ruben Amorim was widely tipped to be Liverpool's new manager to replace Jurgen Klopp when Xabi Alonso pulled out of the race.

Ruben Amorim is known for employing a tactical style that emphasises possession-based football, high pressing, and fluid attacking movements. Amorim's teams typically aim to control possession, patiently circulating the ball to create openings in the opposition's defence. His teams focus on building from the back and maintaining possession through quick passing and intelligent movement.

Ruben is a former Portuguese professional footballer and current football manager. He was born on January 27, 1985, in Lisbon, Portugal. As a player, Amorim primarily operated as a midfielder. He started his professional career with Belenenses in 2002 before moving to Benfica in 2008. At Benfica, he won several domestic titles, including the Primeira Liga and the Taca da Liga.

After retiring from playing, Ruben Amorim transitioned into coaching. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Benfica before taking on managerial roles at various Portuguese clubs. Notably, he became the head coach of Sporting CP in March 2020. Under his management, Sporting CP experienced significant success, winning the Primeira Liga title in the 2020-2021 season, ending a 19-year drought for the club. Amorim's tactical acumen and ability to develop young talent have garnered attention in the footballing world.
