Empowering Women in Semiconductor : Global Semiconductor Alliance WISH Conference Last week, I had the privilege of attending the WISH (Women in SemiConductor Hardware) conference #WISH2024, a technical platform dedicated to empowering women in the semiconductor industry, celebrating the women who have helped break the glass ceiling and the ones following their footsteps. The event was a resounding success, bringing together trailblazing women who are shaping the future of semiconductor industry. A huge thank you to Jodi Shelton for all your efforts in making this event a reality! One of the main takeaways that resonated with me was : Is it going to be an "Egg" day or a "Tennis ball day"? - Your day is in your control :) The conference was packed with inspiring stories and insightful discussions. We were fortunate to have Christine King, the first female CEO of the semiconductor industry, share her life-changing lessons with us. Other highlight of the conference were the Panel discussions, where we had two incredible panels that left a lasting impact on me. The first panel, "Women Focused Inspiring Leadership," featured accomplished women who shared their experiences and advice on navigating the industry. The second panel, "The Power of Allyship," brought together male allies who discussed the importance of supporting and empowering women in the industry. They emphasized on the importance of sponsors, mentors, and coaches in our career development. It was great to listen to the experiences and advice shared by Rani Borkar, Alexis Black Bjorlin, Partha Ranganathan, Rajeev Pal, Deirdre Hanford, and other panelists. Their stories and insights provided valuable lessons and practical strategies that I'm sure will help many of us in our careers. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have attended the GSA WISH conference and look forward to continuing the conversation about empowering women in the semiconductor industry. #GSAWISH #WomenInSemiconductor #MentorshipMatters #BreakingBarriers

I was excited to participate in the Women in Semiconductor Hardware Conference #WISH2024! A big thank you to the Global Semiconductor Alliance, Women’s Leadership Initiative, and Jodi Shelton for organizing such a rich and inspiring event! Proud to have Marvell Technology as the Title Sponsor, with Janice Hall kicking off the event and emphasizing the importance of women’s leadership in her keynote. It was fantastic to hear from Marvell’s CEO, Matt Murphy, about the new Executive Accelerator Program that he is sponsoring for women leaders in the semiconductor industry. During the event, I was deeply inspired by the stories and leadership examples shared by talented women in the tech industry. A special thanks to Christine King for her powerful keynote about her journey from a single mom living in a trailer in upstate New York to becoming the first female CEO of a semiconductor company. Here are a few takeaways from the event: 🌟 Take risks. Without serious risk, there is rarely a serious breakthrough. 🌟 Build communities, not just teams. 🌟 Sometimes doors are opened from the outside, but most of the time they are opened from the inside. Don’t wait for someone to lift you up; you are the one who needs to make things happen. 🌟 Being ready for an opportunity is not a feeling; it’s a decision. 🌟 “No” is a conversation on the way to “yes.”

"No is a conversation on the way to a YES" by Ann Kelleher, the recipient of 2024 Dr. Lisa Su women in Innovation Award, ✨✨was just one of many inspiring insights at the GSA Women's Leadership Initiative WISH conference last Thursday. I was thrilled to join my Synopsys Inc colleagues at such a impactful event. One of the many memorable moments was the keynote by Christine King, the first woman CEO in the semiconductor industry. Her journey wasn’t easy, but her authenticity and persistence paid off in a big way. I was especially moved by her words: “Big setbacks can give you the greatest opportunities” and “If you can work in the semiconductor industry, you can work anywhere.” Synopsys was represented by 5 remarkable speakers, including a panel on "The Power of Allyship: Exploring the Role of Allies in the Semiconductor Industry" moderated by Amber Huffman, Principal Engineer, Google Cloud, featuring our own leader Nuno Ramalho, Executive Director, R&D at Synopsys Inc, along with other industry leaders. Parthasarathy Ranganathan, Vice President & Technical Fellow, Google Rajeev Pal, Vice President, Engineering, Qualcomm Belli Kuttanna, Co-Founder & CTO, Rivos Hearing their insights on allyship and its crucial role in shaping our industry was incredibly encouraging, As Nuno put it: "DEI is counting representation, Allyship is making it count".  The technical sessions by Synopsys women leaders underscored their pivotal role at the core of innovation. Thank you to the team behind GSA Women's Leadership Initiative. 'When adversity happens, do you bounce like a tennis ball or like an egg?". Ann Kelleher Last week at Global Semiconductor Alliance GSA Women's Leadership Initiative WISH, (Women in Semiconductor Hardware) in San Jose, CA, I had the opportunity to take away some powerful insights. Here are some of my favorite takeaways to start the week: -“When you have a vision, sell it!". Christine King -“Focus on winning the war, not just the battle." Christine King -“Be bold and take risks - you can not move forward without taking risks." Rani Borkar -“Recognize the power of the community: build and work together." Rani Borkar On AI, Angela Dalton -“We need to set aggressive goals to improve energy efficiency: create tech innovation that inflates that curve.” -“It is important to reduce power consumption; is lower precision data type as well as the algorithms that need to be developed." -“The biggest gains will come from optimizing software: running software to unlock better performance from hardware." In addition to how much I love experiencing the openness of women connecting at these kinds of events, I was also inspired by a panel of Man Allies. They shared the power of allyship and the importance of creating an ecosystem that opens doors for more women in Semiconductors. (This applies to all industries, I would say). -“Intersect others and create consciousness within men, Ally is exponential". Nuno Ramalho Thank you to all the amazing panelist for sharing your experience and vision.
