You'll NEVER Scale Unless You Figure This Out: The 3 P's of Business Growth

Are you an entrepreneur feeling stuck, exhausted, or burned out? You're not alone. Many business owners experience these challenges, especially when trying to scale their operations. But what if there was a way to grow your business while actually reducing your workload? Enter the 3 P's of business growth: Processes, People, and Productization.

The Entrepreneur's Dilemma

As entrepreneurs, we're constantly pushing ourselves to achieve more. We want to grow our businesses, increase revenue, and boost our income. But this drive can often lead to burnout and frustration. You might find yourself saying:

  • "I don't have time."
  • "I'm exhausted."
  • "I feel stuck."
  • "I'm burned out."

Sound familiar? I've been there too. In 2018, I hit a wall. I was working 70-hour weeks, grinding my face off, and feeling like I was on a never-ending treadmill. I was maxed out, with no capacity to take on more without feeling like I was going to collapse.

The Key to Scaling: Strategically Replacing Yourself

The secret to breaking through this barrier and achieving true business growth lies in learning how to strategically replace yourself. This is where the 3 P's come into play.

1. Processes

Implementing effective processes is crucial for reducing the time required to achieve outcomes. Whether you're a solopreneur or running an 8-figure business, good processes can significantly boost your efficiency.

For example, when I started creating content for multiple platforms, developing a streamlined process cut my production time by 4-5 times. This freed up capacity for other important tasks like writing copy, conducting sales calls, or even taking time to relax and recharge.

2. People

Once you have solid processes in place, the next step is finding the right people to manage them. The formula is simple:

Right people + right process = increased capacity

I experienced this firsthand with my first business, Traffic and Funnels. Six months in, we were already at a 7-figure run rate, but I was capped out managing the marketing and ads. By bringing in the right person to handle these processes, I cut my time from 20 hours a week to just 2-3 hours.

3. Productization

Productization involves turning manual, time-consuming tasks into products that can be utilized without your direct involvement. This might require adjusting your business model, but the payoff can be substantial.

In one of my businesses, we transitioned from a fully done-for-you model to a done-with-you (productized) approach. The result? Our revenue skyrocketed. We packaged our expertise into a product, allowing clients to benefit from our knowledge without requiring our constant involvement.

The Power of the 3 P's: Creating Capacity

The beauty of the 3 P's is that they give you back something invaluable: capacity. This includes:

  • Financial Capacity
  • Emotional Capacity
  • Time Capacity
  • Resource Capacity

By leveraging these three elements, you can achieve more with less energy, effort, and time. This is the key to sustainable business growth.

Getting Started with the 3 P's

If you're feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start, here are some questions to consider:

  1. What processes can you implement to streamline your daily operations?
  2. Which tasks could be handled by the right person, freeing up your time for high-level strategy?
  3. What aspects of your business could be productized to reduce your direct involvement?

Remember, implementing the 3 P's is not just about growing your business – it's about good stewardship. It's about doing well with what you have and creating a sustainable model for long-term success.

I’ve been on that treadmill. Cutting back and handing off was the game-changer.
