Are You Getting Low Quality Interviews Because You're Unemployed?
If you're unemployed, it's easy to think your search is progressing well when you're getting some interviews.
Maybe you're not getting interviews for the jobs you really want, but you're getting the occasional interview.
So, your search must be working and it's just a matter of time until you find your next job. Right?
But how would you feel if you knew that employers regularly give the lowest quality interviews to unemployed candidates? And they give these interviews for no other reason than because you're unemployed.
These are called compliance interviews that many employers schedule just so they can report that they're giving enough interviews to unemployed candidates. It's a way that HR departments inflate the numbers they report to government to insure they are compliant with hiring laws.
But the problem with compliance interviews is they aren't given to candidates because an employer is considering hiring you. They're given to help the HR department "juice" their interview statistics, to make sure they report that they're interviewing enough unemployed candidates.
And while they benefit the HR department, they're a waste of your time as an unemployed candidate, as well as hiding job search problems.
Many unemployed candidates mistake getting interviews as making progress in your job search ... instead masking shortfalls in your resume/interview/job search process. This won't make your search faster or more successful, but hiding search problems will increase your risk of long-term unemployment.
Instead, why not let me show you how to avoid compliance interviews along with many more ways to make your unemployment job search faster?
I'll cover these and other best practices in my next free webinar about beating unemployment.
